Albir Garden: We could live in Albir! by Annec

Main Entrance

Near the beach

Our second visit to the Albir Garden Appartments during the school Easter holidays was as good as the first. Lovely place, people, appartments and location.
Nice to visit Benidorm but nice to come back to the peace. We went in several times on the bus which runs every 30 mins from outside the appts. (75 cents each)
We hired a car for a week which was too long - four days would have been better as you can get around quite cheap using local buses and taxis.
Places to visit - Altea market on a Tuesday - wear comfy shoes it's endless!!!! Guadalest - very pretty. Mundamar -brilliant if you like marine animals. The dolphins and seals are incredible!
And best of all Terra Mitica. You could easily spend a couple of days there. Fortunately as it was Easter time it wasn't too busy so there was hardly any queues for rides. We only booked the one trip through the rep. to Vallencia for the dayand the Lladro factory. OK but wouldn't do it again. Lladro factory disappointing.
The only sad thing this time was the weather. We had a few days of wind and rain!
Eating out is quite cheap and there are plenty of restaurants/cafe bars to chose from. If you like to eat in there's a large supermarket across the road and a nice bakery and take away chicken/pizza place. There's also other large supermarkets in the town. Check out Sheila's Supermarket on the main road for booze to bring home - a good price and plastic bottles!
The shingle beach is about a 20 min walk and there are also some nice walks over the hills to the lighthouse (if you like that sort of thing!)
We'll definately be going back, in fact if we win the lottery I think we'd move there!
