Amaika: An Honest opion of Amaika by Janet Davies 6 |

Having read the review by (Paul) and no direspect to him, I find it amazing we were in the same Hotel.I have to agree on the cleanliness but not much else. Myself and my partner are well travelled and as we booked this as a cheap break we were not expecting much. On first impressions the hotel is lovely however the pool area is tiny for the amount of people, preference is obviously given to the French, Spanish and any other nationality. If you are British you may as well be invisible. The food was the worst thing about the hotel, every meal was served luke warm and the answer to this was to put two microwaves in the dining room. However the fact that the food was hanging around for hours on end at the wrong temperature was not recognised.Several people were ill including myself,(labour pains spring to mind) and one person we know of was taken to hospital. The local chemist was excellent though, knowing immediately what was wrong, he must make a fortune from Amaika guests. Sorry to grumble but this is a sreious matter and i would advise anyone with children to be very careful in the dining room.

Amaika: Great Value For Money by Paul_6 |
| Posted 22 February 2005 about a visit in January 2005 | Overall rating: 8.5 |
I arrived at this hotel with a completely open mind having paid such a small price for a 4 Star all inclusive hotel. I wass pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel which was a 4 Star & not just made to sound like one in the brochure. The reception, bars & common areas where immaculately kept, the restaurant was nice too, although the tables were a little close together for comfort when it was busy. The food was available in abundance but it wasn't kept at a very high temperature, which spoilt it somewhat, however for the money still represented great value. The bedrooms were very spacious I would say the one I had Room 628 was somewhere in the region of 20 Sq metres & it had a decent size bathroom, which had a seperate power shower, and bath. The wardrobe space was more than adequate, & there was a safe & a mini bar available for a little extra cost. I did have to leave a €20 deposit for the TV remote, but that was refunded on departure. As a person who is not easily pleased & can find fault with most places, I have to give this place top marks & have no hesitation in recommending it to you.
