| Amsterdam is a great place for a city break with something for everyone and mostly friendly locals.
There is a vast range of bars, clubs and coffeeshops for nightlife, numerous restaurants with excellent food of all cuisines, great shopping and lots of culture including art galleries and museums.
The tour boat around the canal is a nice relaxing way to learn about the city or if your feeling more energetic then there are cycle paths and hire shops everywhere.
However, like most city's crime is not uncommon so be careful to keep your personal possesions and valuables safe and try to stick to main streets at night.
As drugs are so common here you will almost always be offered something or other along your travels. However, a polite decline if this is not your thing is usually good enough. |
