From the airport we took one of the cedaz minibuses 495 czk iirc, they were ok but we nearly crashed a good dozen times on the way to the hotel but it was cheap and fast (that was the problem 130+ in a 60 zone).
Upon getting to the hotel we were greeted by the very nice man behind the counter who had us booked in within minutes to room 425. the hotel lobby was very clean and spacious with the bar at one end. The lifts needed your room key to work so no chance of people wandering in off the street.
When we got to the room we were pleased to see a very clean modern spacious room with a large very nice bed, tv + dvd player, a cheap mini bar, free safe with power point in it and a very warm (heated floor) bathroom with one of the nicest showers I have used.
The best thing about the hotel I think could be the breakfast I have never seen such a good quality spread miso soup, cold meats and cheese , pastries, cereal, fresh fruit salad, fish, potatoes, bacon, eggs, breads, cheese cakes the list goes on. The service in the breakfast area was top notch quite often id find my plates gone before id had chance to swallow the last mouth full but you wouldn’t notice it had gone (except the waitresses are very very pretty).
The location is great with 2 cinemas and a mall near by with a very cheap supermarket in beer was about 9ck per 500ml bottle. It was about a 15-20 minute walk up to the Charles bridge no need for a tram or metro.
The people were exceptionally friendly and very patient as you try to figure out how to try to speak a bit of the native tongue.
The restaurants close to the hotel were also very good the first night we tried the Mexican and the food was we thought cheap, well compared to the uk it was!!, about £18 for 2 starters 2 mains and 2 drinks. But the star was Corleones we ate here twice and were never disappointed by the quality of staff or service it cost £10 for 2 courses each and 2 drinks each (large beers).
If you want to go to Prague stay here just don’t waste your money on the castle !! go to Terezin the concentration camp about 50 miles north of Prague much better day to be had there.
We used the hotel chauffeur to get back to the airport 700 czk a much better journey than the way in so I think worth the extra money.
Oh and the maids refused to take a tip !!
