Anthea Cyprus: Disgustingly filthy very disappointed by Donna Brooks |
| Posted 02 September 2008 about a visit in August 2008 | Overall rating: 3.3 |
Don't be fooled by the apartments photos of the place they are deceiving. Our room was at the back we had cockroaches, the cleaners don't know the meaning of the word clean. We had to ask at reception for clean towels. The sheets weren't changed for clean ones just rotated. The walls were moldy, the kitchen wasn't as spacious as the pictures show. The airconditioning switch was hanging off the wall exposing live wires. Our balcony was covered by an over grown bush not the well maintained gardens as quoted all of which i can provide photos. The Thomas cook rep wasn't interested when we complained, everyone I spoke to who had booked with Thomas Cook said it was a rip off nothing what was expected. Totally ruined our holiday and we love Ayia Napa.

Anthea Cyprus: Clean, Good location, Friendly staff by Sally Balding |
| Posted 29 March 2006 about a visit in May 2005 | Overall rating: 9.4 |
We arrived in May the hotel was just starting to open all its blocks of apartments, we were the first in one block which had its own pool.
The room was like most apartments abroad, basic but will all the required facilities, 2 single beds, basic kitchen, bathroom with shower and balcony overlooking the pool.
The pool area was clean but the bar was boarded up. The main block has a pool and poolside bar that was open but busy. The reception area and bar was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The evening entertainment was good if you didn't want to go very far and the bar food was good.
Spot on location for everything. 5 Mins walk to the square and 5 mins walk to quieter bars and restaurants. If you do nothing else while you are in Ayia Napa you must try a Meze at Tonys restaurant, which is just down the road from this hotel. Turn right as you come out of the main entrance and it is just there on the right with a blue coloured terrace of tables with vines/plants growing all around (be careful not to miss it!). Excellent food and very friendly staff, including Tony.
All in all was a good holiday and an excellent base at the Anthea.
