This was my second visit. Rooms large and clean tho' bathroom began to smell of damp for the last few days. No aircon. We were self-catering. facilities adequate and room cleaned daily. location perfect in a partly residential area behind Casino Park 15 mins walk from Funchal centre. Loads of top restaurants and couple of bars within a short walk. Manager is Duarte who speaks perfect english and is so helpful but was away for a few days hence damp not sorted. There was some slight late night noise from people leaving a solitary disco with a late licence til 6am but that is supposed to be getting sorted. Broke a glass and owned up but a bit miffed to get charged a euro for it! bit petty what! Roof top pool with sea view is a gem and value is unbeatable so despite slight niggles would not hesitate in going again.
