Aquamare Beach Hotel & Spa: wish I was there! by Theresa Jackson 1 |
| Posted 09 August 2008 about a visit in July 2008 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
Third visit to this hotel and still want to go back. Have been in April, July and September, three years running. The staff are exactly what is required, family friendly, efficient, and patient. Even though the hotel was much busier the quality of the service did not falter. Quite a lot of the finishing touches have been put in place and the hotel functions superbly. Cannot wait for return visit next year.

Aquamare Beach Hotel & Spa: Fantastic by Theresa Jackson 1 |

What a great hotel! We were very lucky to almost stumble across it as we had had a bad experience along the same road. One of the locals said we ought to try it and that was three visits ago! When we arrived we were immediately wowed by the reception area, cool, sophisticated and relaxed. The rooms we were shown to were overlooking the pool and sea and it was particularly pleasant for my Mother who is 80 and does not usually surface until one o'clock - she was able to keep her eye on the comings and goings and relax too. We were able to reserve adjoining rooms which are spacious, extremely clean and well organised. Private and yet accessible, the layout is very well thought out, with lifts to all the facilities.
The dining area is located on the ground floor and meals can be served on the terraced area under parasolls or inside. The chef and staff are very friendly and like to receive feedback which sometimes came in the guise of joining us for coffee and liquers after dinner. We were made to feel part of the family and them us. The food is served partly buffet style or if requested can be ordered and served. Freshly cooked eggs, omelettes, pancakes, bacon, tomatoes, porridge (a particular choice of ours) and lots of other choices. We felt the half board option cold not be beated, the meals served at dinner were exceptional with the chef cooking "six" star every night. I am a vegetarian fish eater and certainly did not have any problems.
Beauty Treatments, hairdressing, qualified instructors in the fabulous gym all beckon your time and can be very alluring as a respite or change from the heat.
Each morning the pool is cleaned out and the poolside area is kept meticulously clean throughout the day. Drinks and ice creams can be served from the poolside bar. Towels are provided by the hotel poolside, a shower and toilet facility is available.
Children are amused by the pirate ship and very shallow pool with sunbeds close to keep an eye on them.
The beach is literally across the small path from the hotel and as we were sunbathing other holidaymakers were strolling past mesmerised by how luxurious our hotel was, time after time we were asked what the name was and how we were finding it. We should have been on commission as we could not fault it.
There are two bus services into Paphos and the staff on reception have all the information at their fingertips. A short walk along the roadside brings you to a collection of shops including a supermarket, fresh bread and coffee available. A few bars are also in the vicinity. A little further down the bars and shops start to become a little more lively as they are on the road down to Paphos itself.
We found that organising our own taxi from the airport was most economical and costs no more than twenty pounds. Have the money ready and confirm the price before taking the taxi.
All in all this hotel is our favourite and as I type this I am booking for a fourth time. That speaks volumes!!
