Areca Lodge: A real gem of a hotel by Ralph Millington

The rooms vary from about 1000 to 2000 baht but all are very good indeed. The staff are very polite and the hotel is very clean. Although I was here with my English wife we had no problems with the ladies brought in by guests. Unlike in some hotels they were always polite and not rude in any way.

The breakfast was excellent, but one day the salad was covered in ants! We went elsewhere. The pool(s) great and the service fast and cheap.

Position wise, very central, near the new Villa Mart Complex and surrounded by bars of all descriptions.

Out of 10? 9.5 (balcony is too small). Will I return? Well I am off again at the end of this working day for another week end!
