Spent a week at the Astoria Playa after cruising around the Med for a week.
Great locaton...just across a very busy main road to the beach (not easy to cross so be careful!!)
About 1/2 hour walk into port d'Alcudia which is very nice at night. And around the corner from plenty of bars, restaurants and shops.
Great pool with plenty of sunbeds but these are reserved by the invisible man very early...if you know what I mean!!!
Lifts were extremley small, could only just fit in with a pushchair.
Food in the restaurant was buffet style with plently of choice for mornings and evening meals, but not much to choose from if you have fussy kids like us!!
Rooms very great, clean every day with towel change.
Watch out for mossies...I got badbly bitten on last couple of days but this is nothing to do with hotel.
Highly recommended and would probably visit again.

we are going next week and on a couple of, admitedly older, reviews it says that men have to wear long trousers in the dining room at night -- our brochure details don t list this -- has anyone been there this year (2007) who could let us know please ?

I was there 3 weeks ago and, no, men do not have to wear long trousers at anytime in the dining room.
