Atlantik: My review by Heidi From London |
| Posted 25 November 2004 about a visit in April 2004 | Overall rating: 5.5 |
I have been a regular customer of Atlanik for many years, as has my whole family. I know the manager very well and have also stayed in his other hotel Park Apartments., However the standard of this hotel which was normally good has dropped. I was very disappointed when i was there in may 2003 with my sisters, the hotel was newly decorated but the massuer who has been sacked now hassled my sisters and me alot and whilst my sisters went for a massage they described it as very uncomfortable because the sacked massuer was very sexually suggestive. The barman who has since left was also hassling us a lot, as you can imgaine I was shocked and disappointed because this was my regular hotel.
I went back again with my mum and friend in May 2004 and again was disappointed, Mehmet who was on reception could not find us a room because all the rooms were in a bad state, he eventually found one (which didnt have a broken toilet, mould, broken sockets etc) but the pool area was still dangerous and I was not impressed, as a result me and my family would never stay there again.

Atlantik: Atlantik Apartments by Rachel Thomson |

We booked our 'cheapie' break in January 2004 and it turned out to be one of the best holidays we've ever had! The accommodation, although basic, was very clean and each day we waited with baited breath to see what the maid had created with the clean towels (swans, fans, hearts to name a few!) All of the staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help. A special mention to Zana (Turkish lessons by candlelight at 3.00 am during a powercut - perfect cure for my insomnia, and definitely not in the brochure), dear sweet Ilkay (our beautiful Turkish ‘Au Pair’) and Emin aka ‘Cookie’ (always happy and smiling … Zebra!)
All in all we had a fantastic time and made some great friends. Never before have we had a holiday where we cried about having to go home … my only regret is that if we went back we could never recreate the magic!

Atlantik: Atlantik by Steve Madeley |

Hi All.
I've stopped at the Atlantik twice 2002 & 2003.
2002 was great the apartment were basic but we only used it as a base between excursions.
2003 was quite different, the manager objected to my daughters Turkish boyfriend coming in the hotel, which caused a lot of friction. It was so bad we considered moving hotels. In one instance he even objected to him playing pool with me on the table on the verander .
We also complained after the kids playing in the pool found some kind of water boatman bugs in the pool, these things were 6mm across by 12mm longand swam underneath the water. A group of kids were catching them and putting them in water bottles.
In 2003 I never saw anyone clean the pool or the pool filter until we complained. In 2002 Yeltsin did it morning and night and washed down the area during the day.
Another cause for concern is that the staff turned over twice whilst we were there and were replace with none English speaking staff, which made ordering difficult.
The main advantage in the Atlantik is that its walking distance from Dolphin square and the beach.
There is also a good restaurant over the road called the Blue Rose.
I won't go back to the Atlantik but I enjoyed Altinkum and will go back.

Atlantik: Great Hotel by Angela Nettleship |

we stayed at the Atlantic in 2001 and it was brilliant, The staff were excellent, especially the barman who stayed up as long as you wanted to drink. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The lady who ran the pool/bar was from Mansfield and was very friendly. It was about 2 mins from Dolphin Square, just about far enough away to be out of the noise of the night life, an excellent hotel, will be going back again. This hotel is in our opinion one of the best we have ever stayed in. The pool is clean and the atmosphere is excellent.
