Don't even consider staying at this dump, my wife and I were unlucky enough to stay here for three nights and we still don't know why we didn't walk out as soon as we saw our room, I think it was a matter of both of us being completely exhausted and not wanting to cause a fuss and upset each other any further. The reception looks quite impresive, it is clean and reasonably modern with some comfortable seating, however that is as good as it gets, as soon as you venture beyond the reception you begin to realise that you have made a big mistake. Our room was very grubby and the curtains were covered in black dust from the traffic on the very busy main road that is directly outside the window, it hadn't been decorated for a very long time, (paint was actually peeling off the walls) there was mould in the bathroom and the traffic noise lasted all through the night, this might not have been quite so bad if the windows could have been closed properly but this was not possible as they were so old that they no longer fitted into the frames correctly, pieces of card had been jammed into the frames in an attempt to seal the windows, we immediately went back to the reception to request a better room but we were told that this was the best room that they had, I questioned this and the young man on the reception who couldn't have cared less confirmed to me that there was no better room in the hotel. Unfortunately we decided that we had no option other than to stay as we had never been to Barcelona before and had no idea were else to look for accommodation, we later discovered that we were surrounded by hotels which appeared to employ cleaners which is more than can be said for this dump
