When we arrived at the Balcon we were met by very efficient, friendly staff who checked us in and showed us to our room, we had booked a junior suite and so it was actually too big for us and we would have been quite happy to have had one of the double rooms and it would have been cheaper, so make sure you ask for the correct room type, two people only need one or two beds and we had four at our disposal. However the location was without doubt absolutely fab, as I believe are most of the rooms if not all. Our balcony literally seemed to hang over the sandy beach and ocean beyond - thats where the hotel derives its name from, the best in the area. People come from all over the world to walk on the balcony looking out over the sea and you can go further by dining in it too. One of the nicest things about the Balcon is the promenade, as the hotel is located at the end we would sit outside in the evening and enjoy a drink and watch the promenaders knowing we were within seconds of our very comfortable room. There is a real family atmosphere, almost a kind of bygone decency and security, all in all delightful.
We had the occasion to need a dentist and the staff were very helpful and promptly arranged for us to visit the clinic immediately. There is a very personal feel to this hotel.
The breakfast was very, very good, there was bucks fizz, fresh juices, fruits, cereals, nuts, breads, cakes, hot buffet, if it wasn't there you only needed to ask, it was provided.
As the location of the hotel is second to none, everything is on your doorstep, a walk up into Nerja to explore the shops in the evening, the restaurants, bars, local tapas, you will find this is as relaxing or hectic as you want it to be and there is certainly something for everyone.
The Balcon de Europa has got to be the only hotel to book for us, we will certainly be going again.
