I went to the Barcarola at Easter and I had a poor holiday. The Barcarola could be such a nice place, the grounds are really attractive and well tended. There are plenty of loungers and even plenty of matresses for the loungers. The holidaymakers are mostly German, but that was not a problem as people got on well. The problem came with the restaurant staff. We booked a self catering holiday for two weeks, but we were offered to pay extra and eat in the restaurant, which we did. The first evening meal was fine, but once the head waitress realised we were not German she and one or two other staff became plain rude. I couldn't unerstand why as they were Canarian and we got on with everyone else. It became so unpleasant that we spent the last four days of our holiday eating elsewhere even 'though we had paid for the meals. There was little company for my 13 year old daughter, but she still had a good time (away from the restaurant). It is such a shame that some staff could spoil what could be a lovely place. It is such a pretty setting and the maid service in the appartments was very good. I will not be returning to the Barcarola, and if anyone asks my advice, I'll say keep clear.

The Bracarola is owned by Hipoltels Group and I booked my holiday direct with them over the internet. This was one of the easiest arranged holidays I have completed. The reservation staff were prompt and helpful and made the booking stress free. I had to pay a deposit on booking but the remainder of cost were payable on arrival.
This hotel apartment resort is situated on the beach road at the San Antonio end of town. For those who know the area it is on the slightly higher pavement with prefume shop opposite La Gruta Bar.
The accommodation is set out in two storey blocks of eight apartments with some over looking the beach road. Each of the internal apartments has either a balcony or a patio area. There are lovely grassed areas throughout the complex and a large communal swimming pool. The rooms were modern and clean with maids in attendance daily.
The dining area is a seperate building within the grounds and is a lovely setting. The food was plentiful and of an excellent standard. There is a large open buffet in addition to hot food served by the resort chef. Most of the staff are Spanish and the majority of guests are German but don't let that put you off as everyone is extremely friendly.
All in all I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. I would suggest that you try and arrange bookings personally as you will not be disappointed.
