a generally quiet base to adventure from
there is only one heated pool & most of the sunbeds are taken by 0600 !
well serviced accomodation
sparse kitchen facilities meant self catering was an effort
we didnt use the hotel restaurants as many better places in surrounding areas
only 5 minutes to beach
lots of English / Irish pubs to have a beer & watch sky if that is your thing
more than adequate for a place to sleep & eat

Apartment adequate for our needs, bathroom especially the bath could have been a bit cleaner, the whole apartment looked like it could have done with a good overhaul, but basically clean and good service with towels changed 5 times a week and bedlinen twice a week.
Sometimes our apartment was not serviced until late afternoon which was a bit inconvenient at times.
Disappointed that we could not get any English speaking channels on the TV not even CNN News!
The service was good and everyone was friendly.
The food in the dining room was quite varied and there was always something to eat that we liked, the chef and the waiters were very friendly and helpful.
The facilities were very good, especially the pool and gardens; bars and entertainment day and evening.
The location, for us, was excellent, within walking distance to beach, shops, buses, etc.
It was good value for money.

Just returned from a week in Lanzarote. Stayed at the Barcelo La Galea apartments and I could not fault them. We were a bit worried as we booked our holiday on the internet through First Choice and didn't have a lot to go on. However, we needn't have worried because we had a large apartment, which was very clean and cleaned throroughly everday, there were plenty of kitchen utilities (not that they ever got used) and the pool area was kept clean although some days there was as shortage of sunbeds.
The only complaint I have is the food at the pool bar - not very big portions so we only ate there once.
This place is brilliant if you have young children as there is a mini club everyday for a couple of hours and there are also other assorted activities for both adults and children alike.
Its situated next to the Puerto Tahiche and I'm wondering what kind of lense they had on their camera to get such a good shot of the beach from their apartment! Its only a short walk to the beach, but you can't see it from the apartments!
