The hotel was clean and organised, the reception staff spoke good English, the rooms were ample and we had a lovely balcony that we sat out on and enjoyed the breeze. the daily activities and entertainment team were second to none, all the staff spoke at least 5 different languages and were helpful and freindly.
The variety of entertainment at night was excellent and there were everything from magicians to dancers and singers we didn't bother leaving the complex for the 2 week duration. the highlight for me was the cheesy award ceremonies every night for the daytime activity winners what a laugh we had.
The food was unbelivable, lots of selection for all ages and plenty of it, i even tried white shark and it was lovely, if i had to report a downside it would probably be the location as there is no beach unless you go into costa tequise, although the bus route is right outside and the service is cheap and regular.
I have added this review only because we have booked for September next year and i was researching prices.
As i have said this was the best holiday i have had and this year we are taking the kids, they have a kids club and the staff are excellant marching them around dressed as pirates, the parent were well impressed with the quality of care for there children.
Not much else to say other than i highly recommend this Barcelo for value and quality...ps definetly go all inclusive and you wont have to spend hardly any money, we upgraded on the 2nd week and couldn't believe the savings.

Hotel was wonderful, staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were suite which was a lovely surprise and made our day. Meals at the hotel were superb with show cooking too. It would be easy to put on weight here as you found you wanted to try evrything. Pool and terrace was windy but nice and we found we could get the same spot every day as it wasn't too overcrowded. The brochure stated there was a small beach but believe me there isn't. Entertainment was very good. No bored evenings here. Mountain trip/planet of the apes terrain was fantastic if a bit hairy in places. a few shops in the area of the hotel but don't forget they close for siesta.

There is only one word to describe this hotel - superb!! Went there on late availability and it is by far one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help. The food was out of this world and the entertainment was second to none. The only downside is that the hotel/complex is quite a way from the resort centre but there is a courtesy bus which runs regularly throughout the day. The hotel was great when I stayed there in 1999 and it is just as good now in 2005.
