| | This is the 20th week we have spent in Benidorm and every time we go we enjoy it just as much as we did the first time we went I just love the place.The seafront and promenade are flat with a lovely walk way especially good for anyone with mobility problems.There is a wide variety of night life ranging from top class acts to dicos drag shows commediens singers and line dancing.The hotels provide entertainment and dancing if you prefer to stay in.We find Benidorm one of the cheapest places we have been to but watch out where you change your currency DO NOT GO TO THE GLASS FRONTED KIOSKS WHICH ADVERTISE HIGH EXCHANGE RATES THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF YOU HAVE TO CHANGE HUNDREDS OF POUNDS TO GET THE ADVERTISED RATE.We find Jay Jays across from the indoor market and Sheilas inside the indoor market the best and fairest places to exchange your money.Avoid The potato or pea men you will see holding impromtu gambling sessions as they work in gangs and if they get you interested you will LOSE- also their accomplices pick the pockets of interested spectators beware.The new Town or Levante is where you will find most of the night clubs but if you take a pleasant stroll along the sea front you will come to the old Town or Ponniente. Here you will find a more Spanish ambience with a labrynth of alleys and tapas bars with designer shops and lovely pavement cafe bars where you can sit and watch the world go by.There is a headland separating the Levante Beach from the Ponniente Beach where you will find a beautiful church and a tiled lookout overlooking the sea it is lovely up thereand beyond the headland is another beac again very clean and well maintained like the Levante Beach.You would have to go a long way to find better Beaches than BENIDORMS.At night the promenade and beach is floodlit and all the sand is bathed in a golden glow from the floodlights and here you will see the work of the famous Benidorm sand sculptures these include The last Supper -Snow White Fairy Castles and Pegasus the winged horse.I could go on for ever about Benidormand would recommend it as there is something for all ages from an aqua park a marine park and the Terramittica Theme park also you can go on free blanket trips you will see the agents in the street we have been and we have never been pressured into buying anything and had a lovely day out I f you are thinking of going to Benidorm and you are not sure if your accomodation is ok leave me a message and I will tell you what it is like as I have stayed in many Benidorm Hotels |
