Whilst hotel doesn't look very appealing from outside, once inside everything is spot on. Prior to arriving we requested room in quiet area of hotel away from obvious sources of noise (lifts, bar, nightclub etc). Hotel staff were extremely helpful and seemed genuinely happy to answer any questions we may have had. Hotel is located approx 15 mins walk from city centre and area felt totally safe to walk back at night. Tram transport is available nearby. Room was of a good size and everything was spotlessly clean and everything in working order. Complimentary toiletries & dressing gowns were a nice touch, as well as apples in the rooms and lobby areas. Unless you have a burning desire to eat out for breakfast I would recommend booking breakfast along with room rate. Excellent selection of hot and cold buffet, fresh fruits, pastries, champagne and cherry crumble. If, and only if, I had to make any criticism it would be that they could make the minibar complimentary too.
Overall, the best hotel we've stayed in in Amsterdam and would certainly go again
