Blue Sky: Well Worth a visit by Lal Christie |
| Posted 22 May 2007 about a visit in May 2006 | Overall rating: 9.4 |
We visited this hotel on a weeks holiday and had a great time. The hotel was clean and fresh and the staff were friendly.
The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels were given. The hotel is in a good location, we enjoyed the walk to the old town up the sea front.
There was alot of Germans in the hotel who didnt know what a queue was especially at meal times but i suppose that is their custom. I was told that the Germans dont queue. It did annoy my other half at times though when we had been waiting to be seated for dinner and a couple of Germans would just walk in as if we were not there.
I would go back to this hotel without doubt. It was very good.

Blue Sky: Blue Sky - Great Hotel and Destination by Stephen Fairclough |

On arrival to the Hotel, I was very surprised with what I found!. Before We left the UK my friends advised me that Hotels would be to a very basic standard. Well what a surprise.
The Hotel is located in a prime position opposite a cobbled beach and palm tree round about only minutes walk away from the Old Town. / New Town
The external feature of the hotel was clean, neat and tidy. Even the name above the front entry doors to the lobby was clean and well presented. On entering the Hotel we where very impressed with the reception, space, colour scheme of the environment. There is a small well placed Bar in the Lobby, that residents can use 24/7.
Reception Greeting:
On arrival the Reception Chap was very frendly and Helpfull. I did find his English a little poor however you could say the same about my greek! He was easy enough to understand and smartly dressed.
Lifts:
The hotel is served by the use of a lift. As I get nervous whilst in lifts, I found this to be well ventilated , clean and fast enough.
Observation Lounge:
Located on the first floor of the hotel facing the front aspect outwards towards the sea. You will find the Observation Lounge. This environment has been designed for relaxation. A place to go when you want to sit in comfort and watch the sun go down. We did one night and it was quite romantic and a treat.
Rooms:
We stayed in a basic room and I must say not the best location in the hotel as we had a rear aspect room. Due to the popularity of the pool / sea rooms these have to be requested and booked asap. However the room basic was well presented, clean and no sign of creepy crawleys. (thank god as if it has legs its dead!) Phew!!!!!!!!!!! The Bathroom has a small bath, Water pressure is very good and can get hot. If you are a larger person then you will only be able to have a shower, but again still effective.
Also in the basic rooms some of the wall mounted radio systems look like they are from the 1970's. But they worked and gave a rustic feel to the room.
Balcony:
As mentioned the best rooms face the Sea, "Dont they always" but i must say they are large enough for upto four people to sit and relax.
Sea View.
Well what can I say the sea veiw is so beautifull. Imagine sitting on you Sea View Balcony with a light breeze, close your eyes and breath slow and let the warm sea air flow over your body. I really regret not booking a Sea View.
Communal Toilets.
If there is one thing I hate about Hotel Toilets is that they can become very messy, unclean and unpleasant if not cleaned regularly. Again no issues, clean and tidy.
Breakfast room / Dining Room.
The hotel offers a Bed and Breakfast Buffet. WoW how nice was this. You can eat as much as you like and have small to large portions. If you wish to eat English or Continental that you can. A good selection of Tea, Coffee, Juice and pop all ready for your breakfast. How good is this. I really did enjoy my breakfast. Thinking about it is making me hungry!!!!!
Swimming Pool.
Not the largest but not the smallest. The pool as nice and cool. the water is a fresh water pool. I prefer this option opposed to a salt pool. The water treatments I observed being carried out every morning. Staff would take water levels and test them. I really did like seeing this as it reassured me that the Hotel staff really where trying to provide all with a plesant stay.
Mini Market.
The Hotel also has a mini market. It is well priced and has a good range of meals, foods, ect.
Over all:
I would stay again and infact we plan to. The staff are very helpfull and welcoming. The overall presentation is very good and We had a great holiday to remember. If I had to rate the holiday for accomodation and service I would rate@ 9/10 I know its not a five star but for affordable, reliable service and an envirmoment fit for the fmaily, then this is the place for you.
FABULOUS.
