Bolero Park: cheap and nasty ! by Stephanie Hansell |
| Posted 22 September 2008 about a visit in September 2008 | Overall rating: 4.0 |
These are the most basic apartments i have ever stayed in, the most awfull bed choosing rather to sleep on the sofa bed, they must have had originally nets up bt not now which means that you have to have your curtains closeed every time you want to get changed ect, unless you want to get changed in the bathroom. The balcony we had was not big enough to get two plastic chairs and a table on so no eating or enjoying a drink on the balcony which was a disappointment.
The pool area is lovely though and the staff there are friendly and ok.
An all round very basic and cheap holiday but if you like to eat out and sample nice bars then avoid.
This is probably a great place if your about 18 to 30 and with a group of lads/girls

Bolero Park: Interesting by Angela Johnston |
| Posted 31 July 2008 about a visit in July 2008 | Overall rating: 7.8 |
Having just returned from my trip to Lloret de Mar with my two children I felt compelled to review the accomodation. I chose the Bolero Park Apartments to stay in because I wanted a low cost holiday for myself and my two daughters (13&11 years old). We were initially shell shocked at the vast number of 18-22 year old males living there but soon realised that this was common throughout Lloret and that our apartments were relatively tame in comparison to the other hotels etc.
I would like to say though that the staff at Bolero Park were extremely kind and helpful, providing you don't catch them at a moment when they are being bombarded by arriving teenagers. Thanks to them we felt welcome and secure, they seemed experienced and I felt they would know what to do in a crisis. In saying that, we experience no problem with security whatsoever.
The apartments very much had the feel of a youth hostel but with the added advantage of being able to cook in your room.
The pool is cleaned every morning meticulously and is very quiet before 12 noon (the best time for families) after which it can become overcrowded.
The best thing about Lloret is that the bus station is extremely accessable with regular buses to Barcelona, Tossa, Girona, Water parks etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay and from what we saw these apartments are the best in this area for value for money.

Bolero Park: Bolero Park by Emily Bolton |
| Posted 03 October 2005 about a visit in August 2005 | Overall rating: 9.5 |
I have just come back from bolero park ( 29th Sept ) and wish I never left! As said in other reviews the rooms are very basic but they are very clean and comfortable and air conditioning has been installed. If you need any extra toilet roll/bin bags, clean towels/bedding you just leave the old ones outside your apartment door before 12 o'clock and the maid will put new ones in the apartment for you.
The staff are very helpful and will go out of their way to ensure you have a good time. The pool area was clean and the actual pool itself is huge for the size of the apartments - people from the samba hotel opposite kept visiting our pool as we got the sun all day! We were on a girls holiday (4 of us) and we loved the fact that we never had to get up early to get a sun lounger as there were loads. W were able to come down at 12 and still be able to get 4 together!
The Bolero maybe wouldn't be reccommended for people with walking difficulties as there is a bit of a hill leading up from the main town to the Bolero. The main streets of Lloret are only a three minute walk from the apartments and you are within easy walking distance of everything but far enough away from all the noise.
We found the food at the Bolero lovely - especially at the pizzeria just yards from the front door. You can have chicken breast with chips and salad for 6.50 euros!
All in all we all enjoyed our stay at the Bolero Park and heard no reports of anybody's room being broken into. We will most definately be looking at returning to the Bolero.

Bolero Park: Bolero Aprts Review by Robert Warrener |
| Posted 07 February 2005 about a visit in February 2004 | Overall rating: 9.0 |
My name is Rob Warrener and i was the Thomas Cook Rep for the the bolero apartments. I thought it would be fair for me to share my experience during my time at the Bolero.
What can i say? Where do i start?
Lets start with the staff. Manolo who is the head of Reception is a remarkable guy. If you have any problems whatsoever, he will sort it out for you. And the best thing is...he's english! Originally from Wiltshire but has been out in LLoret for years. Then there's Oleg (pronounced Olic), he is another entertaining guy. Although from russia, he speaks good english too and has been at the Bolero for a long time too! Seriously any problems, they are there to help you, and they will! Also if you do have problems with the noise situation, let them know because they do not tolerate guests having their holiday ruined!
Now the rooms are basic as people have stated before, but they are in excellent condition, and when i left in september, plans for Air-Conditioning were being drawn up so hopefully, it has now been installed for this season!
Tv's are now available to although the channel selection is very few, with only a couple of english speaking ones available. But once again, Fernando, the Bolero Manager, is planning to have Sky TV installed and put through to the rooms which is an extra bonus! TV remotes are available from reception for a deposit of 40 Euros. You will need one to activate the tv!!!
The pool area is also kept very clean and in good shape. I must have to say that the views from the pool are very nice indeed...looking out into the meditteranean sea whilst having a bite to eat and drink from the pool bar is very relaxing!
I could go on...I very rarely recieved any complaints from my guests, and the ones I did was related to the noise! But believe me, if you are young and planning a lads holiday...keep the noise down because the police will be called...and the police arn't very friendly when it comes to people disturbing the peace!
Please feel free to contact me regarding anymore information on the Bolero Apartments and i will answer your queries.
One thing i will say as a final word...People have stated that you are entitled to use the Samba hotels facilities across the road. This has now changed as the Bolero used to be partner hotels with the Samba Hotel, but this has now changed. The Samba welcomes guests from the Bolero but the Bolero doesnt like it very much, for obvious reasons.
So if you do go to Lloret De Mar this year then i would highly recommend the Bolero for your stay!
Have fun!

Bolero Park: Bolero Park by Brian Laming |

Clean apartments, very basic. If you want clean sheets, towels or toilet rolls put old outside your room and there were fresh by lunch time.
Use the bigger supermarkets as they are cheaper than the one round the corner from the apartments, but be prepared for a uphill walk with shopping.
Be prepared for lots of noise!!, from single sexed groups of spanish and Italians late at night and early hours in a morning, loud music and door slamming. This was the only downfall of our holiday (lack of sleep with young children).
Go to Orient Express for meals about 30-40 euros for 4 people. Also try the Chinese down thr road from the Don Juan hotel, 7.50 euros per head from the special menu includes a starter main meal sweet and a drink! excellent value.
