Bouganvilla Sa Coma: best hotel by Kayleigh Mc Dowell |
| Posted 21 August 2008 about a visit in August 2008 | Overall rating: 7.7 |
I am just back from bouganvilla yesterday. It was fantastic. The entertainment at night was brilliant. The entertainment started at 10.00pm and was over at 12.00pm.I would love to go back next year. The activities were brilliant and well organised. The food was lovely there was a big selection. The rooms were big enough the only bad thing was the rooms didnt have air conditoning that was my only complaint throughout the whole holidy. There is a free train to the town in sa coma every day except Sundays. 5minutes by train and 20 minute walk. The location of the place is very good.
I would definitely go back next year.

Bouganvilla Sa Coma: What a brill 2 weeks !!!!!!!!!! by Donna Parker |
| Posted 08 July 2007 about a visit in June 2007 | Overall rating: 8.7 |
Just come back from Bouganvilla yesterday and im looking already to go back next year. It was brilliant. travelled with my husband a 2 sons aged 11 and 6.
Just none stop activites and entertainment. My kids just loved it they took part in all activites during the day and even my husband played the adult games during the day it was just brilliant and well organized.
Night entertainment was also great there were different acts on from 10.00pm every night and even when the entertainers/reps done there own shows it was brilliant some great talent among them.
Room was very basic but clean which is all we ask for. The towels were changed daily and the bedding every 2 days.
There are 2 life guards on the pool everyday which is another good thing to add. And the free train that runs into sa coma was always punctual and was a good send in the heat as it is a 20 min walk into the center.
The only 1 compliant i have it that we had to set our alarms for 7am every morning to reserve a bed round the pool or if you were there after 8am there was no chance of a bed.
A big well done to the entertainers will be back again soon !!!!!!!

Bouganvilla Sa Coma: What a wonderfull hotel by Thomas Perkins |
| Posted 22 July 2006 about a visit in September 2003 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
One of the best holidays I've been on. I really enjoyed it and want to go back again as soon as possible, maybe next year.
The staff were fantastic and very friendly and the entertainment was great fun - the best in any hotel I've been to and the entertainment staff were excellent.
The location of the hotel was just right for me. It was situated just up the road from the quiet resort of Sa Coma and there is a free 'train' that goes to and from the hotel & resort everyday except Sundays.
The resort was lovely but I wouldn't go at the end of October again as we had a few days of bad weather and when you've been to the town a few times and looked at the same shops it gets a bit boring. We went on the 'Burger King' train to Cala Millor which was OK for shops and bars if it's a rainy day (You have to pay a small amount for this train).
Drinks are quite expensive in the hotel but if you go down towards the town 'The New Inn' is very cheap and has a lovely atmosphere with lovely friendly English staff. Also further down in the town is a wonderfull bar called 'Christie's Pub' and they have quizzes etc. every night and stay open until the early hours of the morning. The staff are very friendly there as well. The owner is a young Spanish lady and they have English and Spanish staff and it is very popular with the English tourists in Sa Coma. Well worth a visit.
I recommend that you go to see the Pirates Adventure show in Magaluf as well. This is very expensive to go with the reps. but you may get it a bit cheaper if you can make your own way there. The entertainment in the hotel in the evenings consists of Bingo and Lucky 13 every night, Mini Disco for the Children (and adults) (Make sure you dance to the Cartoon Heroes and the Mimic Man!!) They also have proffessional entertainers in for cabarety nights etc.
So if you're going to Mallorca I would highly recommend the Bougie!!

Bouganvilla Sa Coma: Dirty Apartments! by Janice Holborn |
| Posted 27 August 2005 about a visit in June 2005 | Overall rating: 2.8 |
Got back from the Bouganvilla a week ago. Me and my husband and two daughters, one 15 and one 26 we went hoping for a realxing fun holiday but all we got all holiday was the Mimic Man and Amirilo, screaming children everywere and no adult entertainment.
When we got to our appartment it was dirty and the towels were mucky. The toaster and the kettle didnt work and lots of flying insects kept going into our ventalation. We also found out that the bed sheets only got changed once a week and there was a chance we could of got cockroaches.
The bar near La Tasca shut at 12.45 so you could get not drinks after that time. The only bar that shut late that my daughters go to was the Kings Head and that shut at 3.00am, but that was a 30 minute walk at least but when we arrived they said it only took 5 minutes and they also said that for the beach.
The only really good thing about the holiday was the sunshine- we got a great tan but aprat from that it was a really rubbish holiday would never go back again.

Bouganvilla Sa Coma: Bouganvilla and Sa Coma by Chaz Smith |
| Posted 17 July 2005 about a visit in June 2005 | Overall rating: 8.0 |
The Bouganvilla is a livly place and is great for younger children but not so great for the older children and isn't a place for people to go if they have no children.
Bouganvilla is situated next to one of Sa Coma's busyest roads and is very noisy with the lorrys and cars through out the day and night... but if you get an apartment or studio away from the road you either get the noise of the entertainment which starts at 10am and finishes at 12 midnight through out the day they have childrens mini discos and rehearsals for the evening entertainment or you will get an apartment or studio near the pool or shops which is alright if you like early mornings with the sudden rush of people grabbing sunbeds at 7am or even earlyer sometimes. No matter where you are you can hear people arriving and leaving at any given hour and any day. On the plus side it has 6 pools, is very clean and well looked after, the staff are all friendly and willing to help with any situation.
Also buy a fan from the hypermarket for 12 euro's instead of the fan from the boggie as they charge 15euros just to rent one and there not that good. Also if your self catering buy all goods from the hyper market, cheaper and well worth the 5 min walk.
Sa Coma - Sa Coma has great restraunts from The Grapes to The Kings Head, they also have a huge beach which has water sports and glass bottom boat trips.
Places to visit - Cala Bona, Cala Dor-Cala Gran and Esmarelda, Cala Millor
The Bouganvilla is a great place if you enjoy having an engergitic fun filled kids entertainment holiday - Kids love it!

Bouganvilla Sa Coma: Bouganvilla Apartments / Sa Coma by Hank Frouston |
| Posted 09 July 2005 about a visit in June 2005 | Overall rating: 6.5 |
We got a late deal via Direct Holidays (4 of us for a week for about £850). We read quite a few of the previous reports so we knew what to expect. The holidaymakers are a mixture of English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish all mixing well as far as I could see. The complex is very family-orientated with kids clubs, a variety of swimming pools and a free train service to the beach.
Accommodation
We had a 1 bedroom 2nd floor apartment in the middle of the complex which was really small. The couch doubles up as a bed with another slide out bed underneath. When this happens there's little room left. The balcony is pretty compact too. We hired a fan (15 euros) and safety deposit box (22 euros). You really need the fan as it can be very warm at night. There's a 10 euro deposit on each - keep the receipts handy because they do ask for them as you're checking out (even at 6.30am). Our toaster wasn't working but it was replaced promptly when we mentioned it to reception. I wouldn't have liked a ground floor apt as there's people walking past all the time with little privacy.
Shopping
Shops in Sa Coma aren't great - mostly same old touristy tat. We visited the Hypermarket (Capabro) after reading various reviews about it being so cheap compared to the mini-market on site. There's certainly a lot more variety though some of the items were dearer than expected. We paid over 2 euros for a normal-sized galia melon. The mini-market on site was much better than led to believe and does have a fair amount of staple goods and is not as expensive as I thought it would be e.g. €12.99 for a litre of Southern Comfort. Also it bakes fresh bread and sells same day newspapers.
We had eurocheques. Get these cashed on site with 3.5% commission. You'll struggle to get a better deal in town.
Entertainment
The reps organise things like water-polo and football during the day. Beware the "kids" age-range goes from 6 to 16 so the older ones get much more out of it.
Night-time entertainment at the Big Tent starts at 8pm with the kids mini-disco. Same songs and same dances every night though the kids seem to enjoy it. The "mimic man" song makes references to Tommy Cooper, Bruce Forsyth and Frank Spencer. You quickly get stuck in a time-warp. At 9.15 it's bingo time. 20 euros for a line and a full house varies on the amount of people - 120 to 220 euros in our time there. Then some cabaret to round off the night. We sat near the bingo ticket line one night and reckoned they must have made at least 50% profit on sales.
Minigolf near the hypermarket was a bit boring and pricey €4 for kids and €5 for adults for 18 holes. Ask at bar beside entrance for golf clubs.
Beach
We went twice to the beach. Sa Coma beach is a fair size, has white sand and shallow water. However we were put off going more because of the over-aggressive antics of the melon-sellers on the beach. Every 10 mins someone would be along shouting about their wares - not that there's any fixed prices. A "No" reply is taken as an invitation to pester. They get sneaky and "rest" their tray on your sunbed (don't leave any space on it) then cut off a slice and offer it to your kids. If you can completely ignore them but keep an eye on your valuables. I really don't understand their tactics. If they came along and said 1 euro for a slice they would easily make a profit on it.
€4 for 1 sunbed hire and another 4 for parasol shade hire.
Restaurants
Overall food was passable. Best meal we had was in the Taiwan though it was also the dearest at €46. Don't order the duck though chicken balls for kids very good. Service was excellent and very friendly. La Tasca on site was one of the cheapest and food was decent. Pizzas and chicken salad were good though pasta a bit bland. Good choice for kids e.g. mash instead of chips. Burger King was passable as expected if not spectacular. Grill/Happy place - food ok but not great for kids. King's Head - good chips though no nan bread for curry and pint of draught Stella was flat (€3.50). Also service not too friendly. Fools and Horses - good facilities for kids (bouncy castle, play area, pool table, air hockey). If only food was as good though price was decent ("baked" potato was pretty solid).
Can't comment on bars, excursions or night-life in town. Not the worst holiday we've had though not a place we expect to return to.

Bouganvilla Sa Coma: The Bougie by Jon Curtis |
| Posted 11 June 2003 | Overall rating: 6.0 |
The Bouganvillea is known locally as the Boogie and is wholly owned by Airtours and has only British Guests. The rooms are very good and the entertainment is
second to none with kids discos, Family entertainment shows and an underground 'club' every night. It also has 5 pools! Kids clubs etc etc.
The Sa Coma Resort is fairly quiet at night but there is a good selection of restaurants (mainly British) although S'illot as mainly German.
I would recommend JJ's bar for good value food - now run bu Lios ,Jack's daughter), and the Kings Head if you want to watch the footie on Sky or do a bit of Karaoke.
If you do go to the Kings Head look out for Paul Smith (not common, just well known) a great guy who knows everyone!
If you hire a car also try the London Inn in Cala Millor which is run by a Yorkshire man despite it's name. A really good night if you like a song.
The Safari Park in Sa Coma is well worth missing unless you like to see animals kept in appalling conditions.
Sa Coma is rather out of the main tourist places but well worth finding.
On second thoughts don't go I want to keep it a secret!
