We stayed here in October 2001 - it was our first holiday abroad and we'd booked with TV Travel Shop. We paid £600 for the two of us. I must say we were very impressed with the Cambrils Princess. The rooms were very well decorated, included a safe and all the balconies overlooked the pool area. The evening entertainment was quite good. The food was superb, loads to choose from, with special themed nights during the week. The beach is a 2 minute walk crossing a fairly busy road. There is a supermarket and a pharmacy within 5 mins walking distance. The hotel is situated about half way between Cambrils and Salou (about 3km to each). I suppose it took us about an hour to walk to both just taking a pleasant stroll, but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel if you don't want to walk. All in all, I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good class hotel for a reasonable amount of money. As I said, we had never been abroad before, and I must say this was an idyllic holiday for us - almost like a second honeymoon!

UPDATE - IT is now APRIL 2004 - we are returning to the Cambrils Princess next month - will update this review on return.

June 2004

Have just returned from a week at the Cambrills Princess. It was everything we remembered. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is a good quality and plenty of choice. Would still recommend.

Would agree with Laura's comments. I fyou want a good relaxing holiday at a reasonable price with no larger louts or drunks then the Cambrils Princess is for you. Just do NOT bood it with Thomson Holidays. They got the wrong flight times on our ticketsboth outward and inward. They did NOT inform us of the max weight of each suitcase which is 32 kgs. All UK airport baggage handlers will not accpet any suitcase that is over this wieght. We had the embarrrassment at Stansted airport on our departure of having to unload 3 kgs of our luggage from our one and only large suitcase into a very small holdall which eventaully split. So we ended up having to pay an extremely high price for an extra holdall in the end. Thamsons did not notify the airlines that I was a wheelchair user and would be taking my won wheechair on holiday. The final straw happened after we were driven from our hotel at the end of our holiday to Reus airport to be told after we had disembarked from the coach that there was a confirmed 3 HOUR DELAY on our homeward flight. REUS is only a very small airport and not suitable for the large amount of passengers that accumulated in the departure lounge whilst we waited for some news from our holiday rep. After a 3 hour wait and having to endure screaming tired children we were finally boarded our aircraft. To add insult to injury there was no apology or explanation from either the flight Captain nor any of his crew for the delay or why it had occurred. I will not be travelling to Spain with Thomsons any more. For warned is for armed!!!! So be aware all you travellers to Reus Spain. Aprt from the cockups at our departure from the UK and from Reus airports we had a really good holiday.
