| Cape Town Review: Camps Bay | | Written by MissBHaving! on 01 Apr 2005 about a trip in Sep 2003.
| We stayed in Camps bay or 3 weeks, in a rented house just at the foot of Table mountain. I can honestly say we did not get to see half of what the city had to offer!!
Thw waterfront shopping centre is a great place to get lost in, lots of well known shops as well as traditional African shops and little boutiques.
Robben Island is a must, it is such a sad and desterted place which holds so much of SA's history.
The bars and Restaurant in Camps Bay are fantastic, they are still reasonable (although Camps Bay is the poshest area in Cape Town)
Great place for Celeb spotting as a lot of films are shot around Cape Town, we had dinner on a table next to Jean Claude van Dame!!
There are a lot of security around the bay, although you do not feel at all concerned about your safety. All of the rental houses have security alarms which have a 5 minute promise (they will have an armed response in 5 minutes, we tried this out after several duff attempts at setting the alarm!!) |
