We stayed at the Capo Bay Hotel for our honeymoon in October 2005. We booked a twin inland view room to save money as our travel agent said we would probably be upgraded, and we were, to a sea view room, which also overlooked the pool. Upon arrival (3am) we were greeted by the porter who took our cases to our room. There we found wine, cake, two t-shirts and a bowl of fruit. Also they had put a double bed in for us instead of twins!

The room had plenty of storage space, a safety deposit box, a fridge and air conditioning, all of which were free because this is a 4* hotel. The television showed BBC Prime and Sky News, along with film channel. This came in useful when the weather turned a bit bad one day. We were provided with glasses, cutlery and crockery, which was great for having a snack in the room. The shower was very powerful and there were 2 sinks in the bathroom. The maids cleaned every day and made the beds. There was also a coffee table and two chairs.

The only complaint with the room is that the balcony was very small and only just fitted the two of us on it, however we were not there often so it didn't matter.

We were B&B and the breakfasts are amazing. You name it, its there, from fruit to cheese/ham, cakes, full english and toast and tea/coffee. Served on a buffet basis, you just keep helping yourself to what you want. Breakfast was served from 6.30am to 10am and we found that it was better to go around 8am to avoid the rush.

We ate lunch a few times at the poolside bar. This is very convenient, just get off your sunlounger and stroll to the bar. They served omelettes, burgers, hotdogs, very basic and simple food, along with lovely ice creams.

We did not eat in the main restaurant in the evening as I like quite plain food and it was very fancy, but it was popular with other guests.

There is an Aquariam Bar, which serves cocktails and has evening entertainment. We did not go there either.

The hotel has two tennis courts, a gym, sauna, massage, two swimming pools (one heated). It also has a small games room for children. We found the unheated pool to be too cold, but this was October when the hours of sunlight were less. The heated pool was lovely and great for doing laps in. We spent most of our time on the sun loungers and in the sea.

One of THE BEST features of the hotel is that the have a sunbed reservation scheme. This means that you are allocated sunbeds on arrival and they are yours for the whole of your holiday. I do not know why more hotels dont do this. (Apparantly the Sunrise Beach Hotel also does this). They also give you beach towels which can be exchanged every day for clean ones. We were allocated sunbeds on the grassy area overlooking the sea and we only had to cross a path and go down some steps to get to the sea.

The hotel sits on the Fig Tree Bay beach which was lovely. The beach is so close and the hotel is so safe that you just leave all your stuff by your lounger when you go for a swim. There is plenty of watersports on the beach for those who like parasailing and so on.

The service at the hotel was great, the staff are mostly friendly and willing to help. There is also a hairdresser, jewelllery shop, sports clothes shop and mini supermarket in the hotel. Two of the shops are run by mother and daughter and they were very friendly and helpful. There is also internet access at the hotel.

The only thing we didn't like is that we were there from 23 October to 7 November and basically Protaras closes on 31 October. We found that a lot of the hotel facilities ended on 31 October. The heated pool was turned off 3 days before we left, the outside restaurant closed down and it was hard to find the swimming pool attendant to get a towel changed. Also they started to put all of the sunbeds away so although we still had no problem getting one, we kept being moved around the hotel gardens.

Overall thought, we had a fantastic honeymoon and can't wait to go back again in a few years. It's not cheap, but its definitely worth the money. It cost us around £1400 for 2 people for 2 weeks, with Argo and flying with British Airways.

Weve been visiting the Capo Bay for the last 7 years since getting married there in June 97,we always go back to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and weve booked again for June 2004.
We just love everything about the hotel, the location is great, right on Fig Tree Bay.
On your first day of sunbathing you are allocated a sunbed and this is yours for the duration of your stay,so no having to get up early do get one......
You are also given beach towels which you can change every day for fresh ones.
The bar staff at the Parasol bar are the greatest, the make our holiday all the better.I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
