Me and my boyfriend visited the hotel back in may of this year. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going to Cancun. It catered for all sorts of holiday makers, couples like oursleves and families and groups of singles. We went during the spring break so it was quite lively with singles enjoying their holidays.

The daytime activities were also great, something for eveyone to join in with not only the children although they were well catered for aswell. The pool area was very spacious and we didnt find it a problem trying to find a sunlounger. On arrival at the hotel they give you a towel card each and an electronic room key each. The towel cards entitle you to a towel from the towel hut and once you are finished with them you take your towel back and get your card back, a simple but effective way of sorting guests with towels.

The restaurants at the hotel were also superb! The main restaurant is the Albatros which is where you can also make reservations for the other two restaurants in the hotel. As long as you make your reservations before 10.30am, availiability was usually not a problem for the restaurants, only once did we find that we could not get a suitable time for us. There are plenty of bars too serving a range of drinks all throughout the ady and night. As it is a 24 hour all inclusive hotel there is a room where you can help yourself to ice cream and chilled sandwiches etc there is also a microwave so you can make bugers and hot dogs in th middle of the night!!

We tended to stay in the hotel at night but did venture out once to Coco Bongos, a club in the centre of Cancun. Didnt enjoy it that much as we are not club goers but if you are you will love it in there! You pay a set rate and all drinks are included but that does reflect in the size of the queue to get served!!

There is no specific dress code for the hotel or restaurants but they just ask that men wear tops with sleeves in rather than vest tops and they did ask that they wear long trousers but to be honest my boyfriend didnt and we didnt see many men that did, it was too hot!! The weather was gorgeous in May and we only had one hour of rain in the two weeks that we were there! As I am a travel agent i researched in to the best time to go and would recommend that if you have a choice that May is a great time to go.

In the day times we tended to just laze around the pool or on the private beach right down the steps to the beach and the lovely warm sea! We did go in to Cancun's shopping plazas. The main one is by Coco Bongos where all the flea market style shops are and the designer shops in the plazas. You will find souveniers everywhere and there is a shop in the hotel that sells essentials and souveniers too!

After two weeks we only spent around £250 each and that included spends on the bus in to Cancun and any food or souveniers that we bought. The bus runs almost every 5mins and it is a set rate of 6 pesos and you can jump on wherever and jump off where you want, it runs from downtown through the hotel zone and stops at most of the hotels and will stop anywhere you want really, all the major plazas are easy to get off at although the bus drivers tend to go full speed until they need slam on the brakes to let someone off!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to go to Cancun. You will not be disappointed!

Stayed here back in 2001. Food and drink was excellent as was the entertainment in the lobby bar. All inclusive is best here as food and drink can be a bit pricey otherwise, the same can go for bars and restaurants nearby. When i was there an all night all you can drink wrist band in most bars was around 20 dollars and two drinks alone was between 10 and 15 dollars.

On the whole if i was travelling back to mexico i would definately use this hotel again

Caribe Real Resort and Spa: Honeymoon Heaven by Lorraine Bostoff
Posted 28 August 2003
I recently took my honeymoon at this hotel and can truly recommend it if you are going to Cancun.

It is in a good location and has great facilities. I travelled with First Choice and the service of the local rep was excellent. The Mexican people are so friendly and welcoming.

We had a lovely room on the sixth floor and it was nice and quiet. There are a lot of Americans at this hotel who can be quite loud compared to us Brits, but they are friendly.

The pool area is by far the best we have ever experienced, including waitress service for food and drinks whilst on your sunlounger!

I would recommend that you stay All inclusive here as it is good value for money. Some places near the shopping malls are expensive to eat and the food at the hotel is fabulous. I am a really fussy eater and I enjoyed food every day there. There was so much choice and good food like chicken and steaks and great variety every night of the week.

There is a pizza bar on the edge of the pool/beach area which is delicious.

Everyone was very hospitable and nothing is too much trouble.

The beach was private and also had waitress service here too.

The evening entertainment is what we would go for but it was OK. The only other thing was the tipping! Everyone expects a tip, because the Americans tip all the time, but then they are only there for 4-5 days at a time! Make sure you take small notes with you and they prefer to get US Dollars rather than Pesos.

Overall we had a very memorable and thoroughly enjoyable honeymoon.
One other thing that we would highly recommend is to swim with the dolphins at the Interactive Aquarium. It is just 15 minute bus ride from the hotel and was amazing.
