we arrived at casablanca after a long day in fact a 12 hour day, and what a very warm welcolm we had. We had a room at the top facing the pool what a room it was so spacious a room with a view. We had such a huge balcony our own b-b-q four sunbeds and table and chairs it was a treat. We ate out every night and there was not meal we could complain about the kids ate everything that was put in front of them. The walk down to the town was great but the walk back up to the hotel was something else it was a fight for the oxygen when we reached the top not for those who have problems walking. The staff were friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. The whole complex was so children friendly i actually read a book without any winging. The only let down was that the tiling around the pool was being done whilst out there and the black grout got into everything, so you had to watch were you walked, but it looked nice once finished.

I wouldn't recommend flying into the north airport, i would say fly into the south and drive to casablanca, it took us 15 hours to get home with a 6 hour delay then to arrive into heathrow with no luggage, so if anyone see's 3 suitcases on the end of the runway they are mine.

Apart from that hats off to those at casablanca it was lovely.

Casablanca: Thumbs up for Casablanca Apartments. by R Phillips

January 2004. Stayed at Casablanca Apartments, Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. Thomas Cook Package Holiday. Booked through Instant Holidays/Coop. Flew from Birmingham.

Difficult to fault package or accomodation. All Thomas Cook related issues worked fine - we were on everybody's lists.

Apartment and complex very clean. Plenty of cleaning staff. Pool clean - if a little small. No english-speaking channel available on TV provided in apartment.
People who are frail or disabled should be aware that the short distance (approx 400m) from town to the hotel is very steep.

Took Thomas Cook excursion to Mt Teide. This cost 26 euros per adult. This is very good, and the guide was very knowledgeable, even though some of the enforced stops for eating, drinking and similar purchasing opportunities were clearly designed to deliver a captive audience to local businesses.
Also took Thomas Cook trip on catamaran to see Pilot Whales and Dolphins. This cost 41 euros per adult. This was good fun, and well worth the effort. Although there are also similar captive audience purchasing opportunities (dvd and/or photos of the trip) , you can just say no, and the sell isn't hardenough to be uncomfortable or annoying.

Puerto de la Cruz town is a little dull, and short of character. There is little to savour once you've seen the shops once. There is, however, more international representation here, rather than just being a Brit resort. However, we did find a couple of good quality restaurants in the area.

Santa Cruz is more of a real working town, and more interesting, and is well worth a visit. Might even be worth considering staying here.

Overall, we were pleased with the Thomas Cook package and accommodation, and would recommend the Casablanca Apartments.

casablanca apartments . sept 2003

sept 2003 have just spent another marvelous week at the casablanca- usual standards and service - roll on xmas when we return

these apartments are first class-spacious and clean

food from snack bar is from limited menu

poolarea is medium size and pool small which can be a problem in peak season - kids!

in la paz area at the top of a long flight of steps- walk down into town-taxi back

all staff are friendly and always recognise long standing clients - have been staying here for past 15 years ever since it was built
