| Cefalu Review: Italy in essence | | Written by Roamerkin on 24 Jun 2005 about a trip in Jul 2004.
| Buongiorno,
As a couple of old 'Togs', my brother and I delight in going on holiday to experience the delights of Italy. This excursion took us to Sicily and Cefalu was our base. Cefalu is a medieval/moorish influenced town which is dominated by a huge outcrop of rock. A Norman cathedral of magnificent proportions overlooks the town. Bars and restaurants abound in this compact town and the narrow streets make it easy to find your way around but keep a wary eye out for the ubiquitous scooter boy-racers. Take some time to view the lighthouse and if feeling energetic you can visit the Temple of Diana which is towards the top of the Rock. My brother and I were quite content to enjoy 'il birra nazionale' sitting in a local hostelry, right on the beautiful little harbour, watching the world go by. Well worthwhile visiting if you plan to go to Sicily. |
