Celeste: Basic but clean by Deb Fry |
| Posted 08 March 2006 about a visit in February 2006 | Overall rating: 8.2 |
Friend and I visited during Feb half term, weather not brilliant-very windy with only 3 days full sun but came back with fantastic tan, mainly windburn though.
Apartments very central once you cut through the complex, reception closed on our arrival (8pm Sun) with phone no to ring stuck on the door! Not an encouraging start, eventually guy turned up for usual formalities, gave us two keys one to our block gate that contained about 20 apartments and one apartment key, so security was good.
Overall apartment was well equipped - 2 rings, fridge, kettle and enough (just) crockery, cutlery for 3 people. Beds were as hard as hell with only one pillow, we ended up rolling our beach towels up for a bit of comfort. We contemplated buying Lilo's they were that bad! We needed the blankets at nite cos it was cold.
The bathroom was clean, bath was small with no plug and shower hose over. The water pressure was dreadful, if you wash your hair-u could be some time getting the shampoo out! Hot water not that good either not sure if that was due to lack of sun or poor system? I'd revisit the complex but go armed with universal bath plug, travel kettle, hair drier and blow up pillow

Celeste: Economical by Steve Clarke 4 |

Excellent location for families. Good value for money without any frills. Good location close to all the shops.
Nice little swimming pools.
Apartments cleaned thoroughly every other day.
The only thing that spoils it is the fact that almost everything incurs a hire charge. For God's sake, one expects to get a kettle without having to pay a hire charge. It just makes the owners look like cheapskates.
Don't book tours from the holiday company reps as they are all available cheaper locally.
