Club Eurocalas: fantastic, beautiful and fun by Ellen Pilbeam |
| Posted 30 June 2008 about a visit in June 2008 | Overall rating: 9.7 |
my sister and I took my daughter who is 6 here at the beginning of June!! we was a little apprehensive about the holiday after we had booked it as we had read some reviews on here and was a little unsure, however we also read some fantastic reviews so we just put the bad ones down to some very fussy people. when we arrived we were very pleased because we couldn't fault anything.
It was the most cleanest hotel we had ever been too and the most loveliest friendliest staff!! The food was generally good and all I can say is the hotel tries their best to cater for every nationality!! the food was fresh everyday!!
The Animations team was great and worked hard everyday and night they would encourage holiday makers and their children to take part in different activities!!
The evening entertainment was great fun too Animations team put on different shows from Grease to Magic shows.
The childrens club is also fantastic doing different things everyday with the children, the staff were fantastic with the kids, my daughter loved goin to the club for a couple of hours during the day!!!
This holiday was a brilliant value for money and I would love to go back there again.
The only fault I had was the ignorant noisy people that moved in next door to us two days before we left....

Club Eurocalas: don't go here - Euro Calas Hotel by Helen Lewis |
| Posted 23 October 2006 about a visit in October 2006 | Overall rating: 3.0 |
My partner and 5 children went in october for an all inclusive holiday, with a large family it seemed like the obvious choice. How wrong we were! The food was terrible, often cold, flies on salads, tasteless and most of the time you couldn't make out what you were eating! We tried for a few days but then gave up and went into the town for our meals. The snack bar was just as bad, the chips that were put out in the morning remained there all day, they just put a few on top every now and again. Cold burgers, vegtables battered, and again all cold.
Poolside you were entertained with Spanish rock music and a lady, not belonging to the hotel, who insisted on taking photos of the children even when told several times not to!! and when I complained to hotel staff that I thought this behaviour was unacceptable they did nothing!! Lying on a longer one day having a moment of relaxation away from the stresses of everyday life at home and what does the hotel decide to do - get the loudest hedge trimmer you could find and cut away at a 200 yard stretch of hedging!!!
The entertainment was terrible, the kids club was colouring in the afternoon!! you can imagine how amused my 12 and 10 year olds were with this. Poolside games consisted of collecting peoples lilos/dingys and getting the kids to sit on them and float around the pool!! night time didn't get better, the same 5 songs, a break for an hour were there was flamenco music played then the reps mimed to songs, entertainment over!!!
The children wanted to play tennis one day - they had the rackets but no balls! The table tennis bats had seen better days too!!!
The lifts didn't work, my daughter got stuck between floors and was terrified. We were on the 7th floor and on 1 occassion the door to the stairs was locked with no other escape!!
The toilet in the childrens room blocked twice, in the end they had to use our bathroom facilities. I asked several times to have it fixed, a man did come to the room to fix it once but the children were in the room and he said he would return, guess what he never did!
The drinks both soft and alcoholic were watered down - my partner said he could have drank the beer all day and still not have got tipsy!! The tea and coffee was disgusting, a couple of machines gave you black goop.
The whole holiday was stressful due to the hotel and the cost of all inclusive was doubled by us eating and entertaining ourselves away from the hotel -
My advice - DON'T GO HERE!!!
on a positive the rooms were relitively clean (2 days you had no maid service, so out of 7 days this made a big difference) and we had nice views. The hotel had a lovely big pool with a lifegaurd all day. Calas de Mallorca as a resort was lovely and I would go to the area again but definately not to the Euro Calas Hotel.

Club Eurocalas: Honest Opinion by Ian Littlechild |

I stayed here with my wife and 2 kids aged 15 and 13 for 2 wks and must say that this was the best holiday we've had for some time.
The complex itself was very well maintained and clean, with plenty of room for everyone during the day.At night the main bar area can get busy but the bar staff were excellent and friendly with it.
Our appt was spacious and kept reasonably clean and the air-conditioning came in handy when needed!
Restaurant was unbelievable, never eaten so well abroad-not sure how the kitchen staff cope serving up such an array of nice food 3times a day.
We hardly saw our 2kids because they were so busy joining in with the activities that the reps organised for them and us,they all work tirelessly to make sure everyone gets the chance to join in.
Nearest beach is small but only 5mins away but watch the steep steps.
Minibus takes 8people a time to a better one directly from reception-No Charge.
Euro-Calas must be good because there was a mixture of different nationalities staying there.
Overall,this was very enjoyable.
The only downside during our 2wks was that teens could access alcohol as and when-and they were English!
The same old faces were in the same spot by the pool most days.
The cleaners could do a more thorough job more often.
It was too hot to play football, tennis, volleyball etc and too easy to lay on my sunbed soaking up the sun and enjoying a beer!
Any questions gladly answered if possile.
