Have just had a pleasant stay at the Hotel Color on the outskirts of Bratislava. Our room was a triple (had only booked a double) and was very spacious and clean. It had more wardrobe and hanging space than I've had in a hotel for many a year. There was a sofa, armchair, coffee table, television etc. There was no kettle but drinking glasses were provided. The staff were, however, happy for us to take drinks up to our room. There was a bit of a heatwave but the room was pleasantly cool with the windows open and was pretty quiet. It may be some distance from the centre (certainly not walkable) but public transport is cheap - a 30 minute ticket costs 18sk. You benefit from quieter surroundings and a keener price. The breakfast was limited but nice. We expected no hot items but there were some.
If you're coming by train then there is a tram from the station to the hotel but if you're flying into Bratislava then you really need a taxi as it's not that easy to get there from that point. Arrange for a taxi in advance or telephone for one when you land as it costs you double to just pick one up from outside.
We arrived fairly late in the evening and the staff were most obliging. The receptionist went to the kitchen and brought us a few pieces of cake (free of charge) to go with the drinks I bought. They gave us detailed information about getting around and they also sold the transport tickets there. We were very comfortable there and a bit sad to leave.

my trip,alone was adequate for what i wanted,with breakfast provided on a buffet basis which was also adequate.the room was a decent size,but i did find the single bed rather prohibitive,and the tram line is also close by which is good for getting into town,but with the windows open can be a bit noisy.I found its better to get a weekly ticket for the trams,which can only be bought in tram station in town to get around,but there is a machine quite close to tram stop to buy a ticket to get there near the hotel also i think you can buy them in hotel reception.
There is a bar in the hotel which was cheap, but hardly anyone seems to use it.
I didnt find the hotel noisy apart from trams with windows open,and i did travel to vienna from the town by boat which can be bought from ticket office by the harbour near bridge which was fairly cheap ie £30 return and you spend roughly four hours in austria.If iwas to go back i would probably find something more central but for price, i was happy.
