Corfu Chandris Hotel: Depressed Holiday Maker! by Denise Lobb |
| Posted 08 November 2004 about a visit in July 2004 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
Wow! What a holiday. Situated right on the beach and close to all amenaties (although not many). This hotel had a FREE gymnasium, whirpools, saunas, steam rooms, sunloungers, and open air cinema (showing up-to-date films). You must also take advatage of 'happy hour', they have 2. Firstly you go to the beach bar at 4.30 until 5.30pm just to get you started then you go indoors and drink at the bar where 'Happy Hour' starts at 6.00 until 7.00pm.
The hotel is very clean and the maids, waiters/waitresses are extremely friendly. The bedding is changed everyday, as well as clean towels daily. The food is excellent and there is a wide variety to choose from. The hotel is suitable for all ages. providing daily/nightly enetertainment however, i felt there was room for improvement in this area. especially at night time; the majority of people went out in the evening around and about. The British Bar was a must to visit with their nightly quizes and excellent food! Especially Sunday roast (roast beef yorkshire pud with all the trimmings). A small Greek taverna facing the hotel entertained you until 1.00am with a variety of shows (plate smashing, greek dancing, flame throwers, etc.)The young at heart went off to Ipsos, a neighbouring town full of night clubs and tavernas, (6Euro's in a taxi, my advice- negotiate before you get in). Overall the holiday was excellent, so why may you ask does the title say from a depressed holiday maker! Well that's what i am, because i wish i was ther now!!!!!!!!!

Corfu Chandris Hotel: Corfu Chandris by Sam Elener 8 |

Corfu Chandris is a lovely hotel. I have stayed there on two occasions. The location is good, and there are plenty of facilities. I would say that the Corfu Chandris is the better one out of the two hotels (Dassia Chandris). The food was excellent and so were the staff. The bedrooms were always cleaned to a high standard and were large with everything you need.
The lounge bar is lovely and relaxing, however, there was never much evening entertainment. The biggest down side to this hotel is that there is a very limited amount of sunbeds, and the pool is fairly small, but plenty of room for the amount of people who used it. Although there were not that many sunbeds there was ample of room for you to sunbathe on the soft grass which directly leads down to the beach.

Corfu Chandris Hotel: Corfu Chandris by Paul Parsons |

A good 4* hotel with a smallish pool area and extensive gardens leading to it's own beach area where water sports are available. The rooms are quite large with excellent a/c. We stayed half board and the food was of good quality and varied. Dassia itself is a fairly quite resort with an assortment of bars and cafes. A short bus ride will take you into Corfu Town which has some excellent shopping. For lively nightlife try Ipsos the next resort north of Dassia.
