Very good Hotel, clean and tidy, big rooms, good sea view. Food good, with plenty of selection on offer. If you like a quiet peaceful holiday then this is the venue for you.Staff very customer focused.
Nice walks on the sea front with a couple of sandy beaches nearby.Taxi from Airport (20mins) which is 20 Euros.
Would visit it again in 2009.

Coronas Playa: First time in a gold hotel by Bob Walters |
| Posted 29 March 2008 about a visit in August 2006 | Overall rating: 9.9 |
My daughter booked four of us into the coronas playa ,we had never stayed in a four star before ,we normally go self catering ,what a surprise ,first off the coach ,a welcoming drink on arrival and your luggage delivered to your room ,and what a room, spacious ,clean and a fantastic view over the top pool and out to sea .The dining room was clean and the staff made you feel as if you were their special guests ,the food was excellent and most nights there were demonstrations on cooking local dishes .the only minus to the holiday was the location ,still if you werent very mobile you could get a taxi into the main resort. outside the hotel there are a few shops and a couple of bars ,Steptoes was the one we went to most of all ,the drinks were cheap and the staff were very friendly ,all in all we will go back there, for value for money it was excellent and we have no qualms in recommending it to anyone .In conclusion ,if you want to "chill for a week or two then the Coronas Playa is the place for you .ENJOY !

Coronas Playa: brilliant hotel by Elaine Shaw |
| Posted 24 June 2005 about a visit in July 2004 | Overall rating: 9.5 |
This really is a lovely hotel, only a 5 min walk to the beach.. We stayed there last August with our 2 friends and had a wonderful relaxing holiday. It is relaxing as there are no children at this hotel. Dont talk to loud in the top pool as everyone can hear what you are saying because of the quietness!!! The rooms are spacious and are cleaned every day along with fresh towels and clean sheets every other day. Meals are superb with lots of choice.. The Monkey bar has very friendly staff but it can be a little expensive, there is a cheaper bar just outside the hotel.
there is a lovely beach about 10mins walk away and a smaller beach within 5mins walk of the hotel, both are fine and have lots of sunbeds, but you do have to get there early for one of these..
All in all, this is a really relaxing hotel with very friendly staff and beautiful clean surroundings. I would recommend this hotel to anyone..

Coronas Playa: Superb by Roy Clough |

Visted Jan 5th to Jan 12th 2005.
All the plaudits already given are totally accurate.
Now classed as a Thomnson Gold Hotel (No children under 16)
Location:
In a quiet location approx 1.7km from centre, a good 15 minute walk but taxi's were only 3 euros. A few shops and bars in proximity of hotel.
Rooms
We opted for a superior room but only difference is that in a superior one gets sun loungers on the balcony a pool view(nearly all rooms have a pool view though) Tea/Coffee making facilities, Bathrobes/slippers and a basket of fruit and small bottle of wine in room on arrival day.
Reception
All guest are welcomed with a drink on arrival, a nice touch, porters take cases to rooms.
Grounds
Two very big pools and a well thought out and large entetainment room refered to as Pavilion, a nice touch here is it is divided into a smoking section and a non smoking section, plaudits to Thomson for that as a non smoker. If you have a room near the Pavilion, as it is a seperate unit from amin buliding, there will be some noise but not intrusive in my view.
Entertainment
Regular entertainment team, only slight critiscim I would have is that I did not feel the entertainment on some nights was of supposedly Gold standard, i.e stated top uk cabaret act( clearly not)
Meals
Simply cannot fault, simple as that.
This hotel would probably only appeal, to be honest, to young couples wanting a relaxing time or "golden oldies"
If you fall into either catagory, you will not be disappointed

Coronas Playa: Coronas Playa Hotel by Elison Rutter |
| Posted 03 November 2004 about a visit in December 2002 | |
Stayed at Coronas Playa Hotel (Thomson Gold) from 22nd Jan - 29th Jan 2003. Hotel very nice, lovely grounds, two big pools, plenty of sun beds. Food good. Rooms very spacious. Staff very pleasant. Downfall was the nightly entertainment, too much time between shows when you had to listen to very loud music left playing by Thomson Host. Not a patch on other Gold Hotels for Entertainment. Daytime activities could also have been better. These were changed to suit Thomson Hosts. A good point to the holiday, were, 2 couples whom we met at the Fiesta Cala Llonga, in Ibiza (Gold Hotel) in 2002, Margaret and Brian Marshall, and Betty and Syd Smith, joined us on this holiday, which was a suprise to Trevor for his birthday.

Coronas Playa: Fantastic by Paul Rogers |

This is an amazing hotel. This was my first real holiday and worth every penny! The food, entertainment, facilities were all exceptional. Its true that during a really busy season (we went 13th - 20th August 2003), the main pool was really quiet.
The addition of no children was excellent, meaning people were all looking for a quality holiday.
I will not look at another hotel in Lanzarote now I have found this one.
I would recommend that for the tours, you go on the south tour, the north tour and the submarine. You will not miss much by going on the catalanza (I didn't think it was worth the money myself).
All in all great. And someone PLEASE throw that James in the pool!

Coronas Playa: recommended by Eddie Mallon 6 |

We stayed here July 2002 and we would recommend this Hotel to any one wanting a peaceful holiday. The top pool was really quiet sometimes the only sound you could hear was the rippling of the pool, the bottom pool was a bit noisier. The bedrooms are huge and the restaurant was clean with food in abundance and you were always greeted with a warm welcome, the staff were superb. They also have a gym if you are up to it. From the girls that clean your room (daily) , the restaurant staff and the management everybody made us feel more than welcome.
