| Czech Republic Travel Guide: Our Prague Experience
| | Written by Steve Mills on 31 Oct 2007 about a trip in Oct 2007. Trip was for a couple on short break. Steve Mills would definitely visit again.
| Czech Republic shopping | 8.0 | | Wencelas Square believe it or not isn't a square, it's a boulevard almost like a dual carriageway with a massive central reservation, the "Square" is littered with gift shops, C&A etc. This is a big ancient city with the trappings of the 21st century, hence the type of retail outlets would not expect bartering (In C&A, don't think so) Crystal and glass figurines are very popular. Becherovka is a liquor that is similar to rocket fuel, these are very popular as gifts |
Czech Republic History and Culture | | | Prague is very Eastern Block with the older Czech's and are very proud of their roots, however with facts like there are thousands of americans living in Prague, as with Brits, Africans, Poles etc which means it is like any modern city in Europe, East meets West and the young Czechs are in the later group |
