If you're not fussy about luxury, but just want a cheap, clean and comfortable place to sleep, I'm happy to recommend Dante. Basic breakfast is served in the room. It is located up a side street only a few minutes' walk from the Promenade Anglais and places to eat, and on the right side of town for the airport. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. The walk into the centre is quite pleasant, or you can take buses from the Promenade Anglais.
