Trip was for a couple on holiday. Scouse Mouse would definitely visit again.
| I have never visited anywhere and felt homesick when I returned to England. When I visit anywhere else I am always aware I don't belong there. It takes days for me to settle. Thats not the case in Elounda. There are so many genuine people there. You don't get your bag whipped if you take your eye off it for a second like you do here. The people there have far too much respect for themselves. FRIENDS CAFE BAR is so relaxing and cool on hot days. The Garden of Eden has a beautiful play area at the back for your children. You can find fifty year old kids like me there in May and October. There is something for everyone. I would move there now. Even the bad days are good. My family are all here and glued to the spot, so it's not an option. What would I have to look forward to if I did move there? Elounda will remain my special treat twice a year.
Dimitris Svendilakis is well out of the woods after his accident lOct 2003 He is giving it some welly behind the bar in Friends. Rita and Inike have stopeed working there. There is a new girl name Deborah working Chloe is there sometimes also. We miss Rita and Inke, but luckily we can still get together when we visit.
Katerina is still there she starts at 6pm. Gordon and Sammy are at Hellas Maxims has changed hands. it is really good. Fiji is now called Sea Breeze. The fun train is up and running.
Easter was great, we can't wait to get back.
June was fantasic, saw Greece beat France, made up for England being robbed the night before.
Gordon from Hellas is a dad, his daughters name is Grace (30/12/05). well done JoannnE. they left Elounda, happily back in Holland
We spent a few days backin in Elounda (28/1-2/2) It was quiet but what a relaxing time. The greenery is just starting to come int its own . We drove to the Sitia area and it was the best journey we have ever had. there are the most beautiful blue poppy type flowers everywhere, they will creep into the Elounda area.We met Dimitris from Friends cafe bar and he showed us around places that are not on the map. It's fantastic. Well worth a winter visit. It does get cold at night Despite that we will go again in January, it's perfect for non-sun worshippers. Our spring time has already started. Hay fever sufferes beware. take yoyr tablets with you, |
