Definitely 5 star. You get what you pay for, simple as that. The Elysium is beautiful to look at, mouthwatering to dine in, reassuringly expensive. The attention to detail and the quality of service is second to none. We travelled out of season to sample the delights at a very reasonable price, but are already saving to return later in the season next year. I wasnt blown away by Cyprus or Paphos itself, but was so impressed by the hotel that I really want to go again.

It really would be worth the extra money for a pool/sea view room. I could wax lyrical forever about the hotel, but all you really need to know is...its fabulous, treat yourself!

We arrived here on Sunday evening to be greeted a friendly porter called Sam. Check in was very quick and we received a welcome drink as we waited for our luggage to be brought to our room. The lobby was very big and decorated and furnished to the highest standard. We were then taken to our room and there was a welcome message on the TV. The room overlooked the main pool and also had a sea view (this is definitely worth paying the extra supplement). The room was very spacious and the bathroom well equipped with “Molton Brown” toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. There was a safe that was free. The turn down service was excellent and sweets were left on your bedside table. There was also a choice of pillows from very soft to firm.

At breakfast there was an extensive menu, which ranged from smoked salmon to boiled eggs and cornflakes. There were freshly cooked omelettes, crepes and waffles plus there was the full fry up if you so wished. Freshly squeezed juices, yoghurts, cheeses, cold meats, fresh fruit. The list is endless and the quality was superb.

There are five swimming pools and loads of sun beds. There is an evening entertainment programme to cater for all tastes. There is an Internet cafe for residents. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and speak very good English.

All in all this was an exceptional holiday in a magnificent hotel and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Well what can you say, this place is amazing!!!. We booked to go and you hear all these fab reports and you built your expectations up so high, you are worried that the expectations will not be met. But they all were. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the accommodation is lovely you can not fault it, the food is excellent (the breakfast buffet has everything imaginable, you certainly would not leave hungry, and the quality is very good) The pools are fab, to be honest everything is brilliant. On some previous reports it was said that the hotel was quiet, but it was busy when we were there, you get the normal early wakers putting the towels on every available sunbed, but don't worry a member of staff will on hand to organise your sunbeds for you (excellent!!). The only one (and I mean one) down side is the cost of the drinks they are not the cheapest! but I think you get this at the majority of hotels now in Cyprus and don't touch the Kit-kat in the mini bar in your room, unless you want to pay £2.80 for it!!!. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants at the top of the road though so don't worry about the price of food and drink (less than a 5 minute walk), there is the legendary Fat Mama's (1 meal will feed you up for a week, dont get a starter) and there is a lovely Italian at the top of the road which Elysium is on, on the left hand corner next to the bank, definate recommendation! Plus lots lots more. If you go to the Elysium, trust me you will not want to go anywhere else in the future but the the Elysium!!!. FAB! FAB!

We stayed at the Elysium in November 2002. It is fabulous, it was very quiet but the staff were very good. Although in a fairly isolated position we found we enjoyed the walk along the beach and in fact along the road to Paphos Harbour. We ate in the Hotel every night except one and found the food to be fabulous. The exclusive Cava restaurant has been described as the best on the Island by the Cyprus News. We had as much space as we wanted around the pool and the pool staff couldn't do enough for us i.e. moving sunbeds around, laying out our towels etc. We felt really pampered. I would definitely go again.
