if u r thinking about booking to stay here think again! it is the most disgusting place i have ever stayed in!
firstly we had no balcony and the only window we had opened into the hallway with numerous people walking past so that obviously stayed closed.
the lock on the door was something u would only expect 2 lock a bathroom door not the main door into an apartment, didnt feel safe at all.
there were bugs crawling around our sheets each night but thankfully we rarely were in the apartment to sleep.
as for the maid service that was a complete joke they left a few towels in now and again but if u wanted any cleaning done then u had to haunt them down yourselves!
didnt use the so called kitchen in the apartments it was disgusting the dishes were dirty and there was no hot water to wash them in the sink. the wardrobe was right infront on the sink so u couldnt have stood infrotn of the sink anyway 2 wash them.
a lamp was also smashed and drawers were broken in the room.
had to pay 60 euros for air con which was complete rubbish!
the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned from the people that had been there before us was filthy!
the staff in reception were useless most of them could speak about 2 words in english if they were lucky!
the niteman was also very ignorant.
many people described it as a hostel and they are right.
apart from this we had a great holiday the ibiza nightlife is amazing and we will definately be back but not to stay here i'd rather sleep on the beach! so definately dont book es calo playa! taxi drivers didnt even know where it was thats how popular it was (not)!

Ok, we've been to Ibiza for the past six years, every time it's been fantastic and this year was no dissapointment....

Saying that, how these apartments can be rated 10 out of 10 is beyond me. Not meaning to be offensive Sarah, i'm sure you're lovely, but do you live in a shed?? The apartments are awful!

Ok, they are relatively clean but everything about them has Netto's written all over it. Locally known as the "Hotel from Hell" because of all the trouble they get from it, 27 passports were stolen from reception the week before we arrived!

There's a bar next door which poses as the hotel's restaraunt but the food is typically awful and the owner's a grumpy sod.

The pool - Legionnaires waiting to happen... same can be said about the aircon for which you have to pay 60 euros to have the pleasure of being dripped on.

The people - not wanting to sound too snobbish but if you want to be surrounded by a bunch of dribbling northerners wearing England shirts and singing "England till i die", then that's up to you.

The ONLY decent thing about this place is the location. 5 mins to coastline, kanya, sunsea which are all fantastic places to chill during the day.

So to summarise... stay at the Arenal... Much better!!!

wow fantastic holiday!!! if you ever want a fun packed holiday this is the place to go, and as for the reps well they are fantastic. me and my friend decided to book all of the excersions and im soooo glad we did as we had so much fun on all of them. we went to some fantastic night clubs which were only 5 minutes walk away from the hotel! cool hey! eden is the best, open til 7.00am! the drinks in there are really expensive so its a good idea to go into the garden of eden, which is next door, to get a cheaper drink! the beach is two seconds away from the appartments which was fantastic too, although it is only a small bay it is sand only and the water is so clear and warm ahhh lovely! the rooms are quite nice, we had a small balcony and three beds, there were only two of us staying there. all the staff are polite and friendly, even at early hours of the morning, impresive huh! the reception is open 24 hours a day so if you have any queries then there are no set times you have to be there! man i dont know what else to say because it was such a fantastic holiday and i loved every minute of it, i didnt want to come home and im definately going back! if anyone wants to ask me any questions then i would be more than happy to answer them, i advise everyone to go there.....and take lots of money!!!!!!!

Es Calo Playa: Nightmare! by Rhiannon Garvie
Posted 06 January 2003
Basically – the apartments were pants, the pool was a puddle, the people staying there were lager louts, and the reps were idiots. I will never go to Es Calo Playa again, and will never travel with Escapades! The beach was good, but walk around the shore to the right for about 15min and you will find the most amazing tiny little beech, only big enough for 2 people! Worth a wee walk!

We did our own thing, and had a totally different holiday to what most would call the “Ibiza Experience”! We hired a moped, visited Formentera (although it costs a bit – it is well worth it, gorgeous beaches and its soo peaceful!) and explored the whole island. In 4 days we travelled over 250 km, and found out what Ibiza is really like. Visit Café Mambo, Savanah and Davids Pizzaria for food, and go to Coastline Café, Bar M, Café Del Mar and Mambo for good music and a gorgeous setting right on the sea! If your feeling adventurous, see if you can find Es Robost in San An, behind the Shouting Man roundabout in town. Ask any local, they will know where you mean. Good Ibizan food, in a place that feels like a family living room, miles away from the madness of Bar Street only a few streets away! The Old Town (Dalt Vita) in Ibiza Town is amazing, and the bus there only costs about 50p!

So, take the £180+ you would spend on the Escapades excursions, hire a moped, catch the old bus, and do it yourself. I guarantee you will have a better holiday!
