Esra: Esra for couples by Marion Davidson |
| Posted 12 October 2007 about a visit in September 2007 | Overall rating: 7.7 |
My partner and I visited the Esra sept 07. Our first night the waiter was getting engaged and we were all invited to attend his party. the party was great with a mixture of 2 cultures as his partner was English. We stayed in a studio apartment which had a bedroom as well as living room and kitchen. the staff were great and couldn't do enough for you. The food was good and reasonable as well.
If going to Altinkum again I would definately visit this hotel again.

All i can say is what a fantastic holiday. The staff were fab , the rep was excellent and the accomodation was fab.
We had such a good time we are going back next August with an extra 10 people.
I would definately recommend this hotel to all familys who want a friendly, lively holiday.
Definately the best hotel i have been to.

Esra: Esra for me! by Ray Fox |
| Posted 26 October 2006 about a visit in August 2004 | Overall rating: 9.5 |
Booked a holiday with first choice and were told the Esra apartments. Did not know were it was, as we have stayed in Altinkum for the last 6 years and would not go any were else. What a holiday it was! The best we have had.
Staff and managment were so helpful. It might be a little way out but the Dolmus is only 200 yards and a cost of 35 pence won't break the bank (or walk in to dolphin square).
Plenty of bars and cafes- not much hassle to say no thanks- not like Bodrum, Kusadasi were they won,t leave you alone. Esra has every thing you want: pools, slides, bars, shops, salons, gym, even a tatoo shop- weather you want henna or the real thing!
Turkish bath and resturants- good food! You will pay a little extra but the service is very good and your on holiday! Kids club is very good, as we were told (not having any kid to go on holidays with).
Me and the wife are booking for next year, no need to go any were else, third beach is around the corner free bus from your apt and back, Turkish night, barbque night with plenty of food...
I myself would go to Esra apartments again- must be the best in Altinkum

Esra: Brilliant Holiday by Debbie Lealman |
| Posted 06 September 2005 about a visit in July 2005 | Overall rating: 9.0 |
The Esra Hotel is an excellent place to stay for all ages. The staff are the best I have ever come across on all of my travels. They are so friendly, funny, helpful and brilliant with kids of all ages and are good at flattering the ladies' egos!! They certainly work their socks off to keep everyone happy.
The rooms are spacious and well kept. The pool areas had plenty of beds for everyone, the food is OK but can be found a lot cheaper and better if you take the 15 min walk into town. We would recommend Robin Hood, Soltan and Big Ben alll of which have excellent service and value for money. You do get hassled a lot but just say no thank you and keep walking.
Turkish men are very good looking and i would recommend Altinkum for this reason alone, however it is also good fun for all the family and very HOT!!
The beach does get very busy but there are 2 others which are much quieter if you are willing to walk to them.
Make sure you leave plenty of room in your suitcase for all the cheap designer gear you will want to bring home and maybe the odd waiter!!
I will definately be going back one day, hopefully very soon.

Esra: Good holiday, but not cheap and expect hassle everywhere! by Tracey Markham |
| Posted 15 August 2005 about a visit in July 2005 | |
We'd never been to Turkey before and don't plan to go again!
Everything is priced in English £ (so don't bother taking lira) but when you go to pay they convert it to turkish, bumping up the price!
We went as 2 families of 5, there's not much for teenage boys in hotel or Altinkum apart from pool or internet cafes. But teenage girls will love all the attention, as our 7 year old did!
The beaches are very crowded, the sunbeds are crammed so close together making it hard to get in the sea and off the beach and unless you're in the front row the kids can't dig the sand!!
Be prepared to put a towel out early at the Esra otherwise you won't get one and there were no Germans staying here!
Don't believe the hotel if they say you can pay by visa (as we tried to do on last night) as they said phone lines were busy they drove us into town and then demanded petrol money! And lastly 3 of us got diarhea!

Esra: BEST HOLIDAY WE HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!! by Joanne Smith 6 |
| Posted 28 June 2005 about a visit in May 2005 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
We have just returned from Turkey and the "Esra apartments".
We stayed for a fortnight and when it was time to leave the whole family cried..... It really is that good!
We were a pary of five, my husband (42) myself (34) daughters (15, 14) and son (12) and there was something for everyone here.
The staff just can't do enough for you, they really want you to relax and have a great time.... which isn't hard as they are all so funny!
Most of the staff have adopted an english name, so that it's easy for the kids to pronounce their names, and anyone who goes will definately grow to love "Charlie" "Jack" "Alex" "DR.Smile" "Ozzy" "John" and the rest of the staff!
They all speak excellent english and have the kids well entertained 24 hours a day! Their sense of humour is great and at least one member of staff was thrown into the pool each day by the kids and the just laugh it off!
The apartments have been newly re-furbished through the winter, and were immaculately clean, very spacious and well equipped, and to the children's joy new pools have been built since we booked, one of which has 3 great water slides!
The hotel does turkish baths and massages which Ihighly reccommend.... you come out feeling great! there is also a hairdressers which does everything from facial to nail art, and for the really brave a tattoo studio.... who also do henna tattoo's mum's, which will come off eventually!
The Restaurant food is great with a varied menu consisting of everything from traditional turkish food to a kids menu with fish fingers and chips etc, and even a full english breakfast! good prices too!
We loved every minute of our time here, and even when my husband fell ill and had to spend 4 days in hospital, the staff were great and really spoilt the kids and kept them occupied, one of the waiters "Charlie" even offered to take time off to run me back and forth from the hospital!!!
Whilst here we saw all age groups, and not one person had a bad thing to say about the place. We have made some brilliant new friends, who we will definately keep in touch with, and look forward to returning to the ESRA next year

Esra: esra by Bev111 |

I stayed at the esra twice 2000 and 2002 the second time i was mugged walking back just outside esra the staff were nice and said its rare but i later found out its a regular thing we started getting taxis home at night which are cheap and well worth it. other than that no complaints we spent quite alot of time at sultan restaurant with Isa who owns it both times and last year but we stayed at spice apts in 2003 we go to toy karaoke bar most nights aswel .We made lots of friends while in Altinkum and would recommend it to anyone but beware if you have teenage daughters the turkish lads love all british women and young girls heads can easily be turned and fooled very flattering just dont take it to seriously. HAVE A GREAT TIME

Esra: Has anyone stayed in Studio appt? |
| 10 Aug 2007 by John Brown 1 |
I see most reviews say the rooms are very good, I'm wondering about the location and size of the Studio appts. There are only 11 of them so I'm wondering where they are located and if anyone has stayed in one what do they think? >> Answer this question | |
