Excelsior Palace: Comfortable Hotel with Fab views by Catharine |
| Posted 19 July 2005 about a visit in May 2005 | |
This Hotel was in a very good location, just off of the main Corso Umberto. It was however, very relaxing and peaceful.
The Hotel has just celebrated its centenary year and the style of the building reflected this. The bar was quiet and intimate yet very pleasant. Staff were very professional yet friendly.
We were B&B as we always like to eat out at night, but breakfast offered plenty to choose from.
Our room and balcony were lovely if not alittle small but that seems to be the norm in Italy.
The steps down to the pool, fantastic views of the coast and Mount Etna may be alittle daunting for the elderly or families but we enjoyed the stroll through the gardens.
A thoroughly pleasing experience and worth a visit.

Excelsior Palace: RIVIERA TRAVEL |
| 21 Feb 2008 by Fred Coley |
I would be interested in the views of anyone who visited this hotel particularly people who traveled with Riviera Travel. Some reviews on other websites were critical of the rooms, people who had booked a sea view at extra cost and were not given what they paid for.
Kind Regards
