Flamingo Oasis: Benidorm June 2005 by Dave Williams 47 |
| Posted 04 July 2005 about a visit in May 2005 | |
We stayed at the Flamingo Oasis for a ten day holiday on an all inclusive package in June 2005 . Only one word to describe the hotel....FANTASTIC....
Ideally situated away from the hustle and bustle which is Benidorm !!!! but near enough for a stroll to the beach , the shops and the pubs. Service at the hotel is the best i`ve encountered...Would recomend this hotel to anyone.
ps. This is a Thomson Hotel but we booked rooms on the web and flew with jet2,hired a car for ten days , and only paid £500 each......A bargain but after being there would say that the Thomson Brochure price is although a lot dearer it is well worth what you get.

Flamingo Oasis: THE BEST HOTEL IN BENIDORM by Lord Bazza |
| Posted 28 April 2003 | Overall rating: 9.5 |
We have been to the Flamingo Oasis on a number of occasions and have just returned on the 26th April 2003 travelling with JMC. This hotel gets better and better, if you do not enjoy this hotel, then dont bother to go on holiday. The only one draw back, which is very minor and that is the distance from the beach area, it takes a maximum of 10 minutes to walk to the beach but once out of the hotel you pass a number of shops so basically in no time you are at the beach area. This hotel goes out of its way to make sure its customers are very well looked after. We had no problems whatsoever with any of the areas at the hotel and the building work next door plays a very minimal part in your holiday, they have finished building and are fitting out now so the noise should be non existant. We have re-booked to return in October 2003, so go on book this hotel you will not be disappointed.
Kind regards to all - Barrie Norman

Flamingo Oasis: Great Hotel by yvonnewoodhouse |

We stayed here in November 2002 - the building work mentioned was really of no concern other than most of the rooms overlooking it, but the views are not that spectacular even if it wasn't there.
As for the hotel itself -
We had no problems with the lifts at all, other than at peak times when you had to wait a while to get in one!!
The food is good and there's plenty of it and all times of the day and night. The restaurant staff in particular are very pleasant and helpful (especially Tony).
We would definately go back.

Flamingo Oasis: Excellent! by Paul Richards 1 |
| Posted 03 August 2002 | |
We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Flamingo Oasis. We arrived early in the morning, around 5am. We were instantly impressed with the hotel’s drive/foyer and reception area. It is such an impressive hotel from the outside and the interior is no different. As soon as you enter the revolving doors you are greeted with a gigantic Oasis in the centre complete with massive trees, rocks and water streams. It looks superb. The reception is impressive too. Anyway, we checked in and headed for our room with our flashy swipe card to use to unlock the hotel room door and to get served at the bar. Their are 6 lifts in the hotel but they can get a little busy at peak times as they seem to stop on every floor! The hotel has 25 floors, we ended up on floor 15, room 14. The rooms are lovely and spacious. When you enter their are 2 massive wardrobes with plenty of space and hangers. Also, theirs a safety deposit box which you pay a refundable deposit of 6 euros and a non-refundable fee of 2 euros per day. The bathroom was fantastic. All in marble with twin sinks and a wall sized mirror, shower, toilet, hair dryer and even telephone!!! The sleeping area has 2 large sized beds, 2 bedside tables, 2 sofa beds, cabinet, telephone and colour tv with BBC1, Sky sports, Eurosport, news etc. The balcony was large enough, it had a table with 4 chairs and a decent view out onto the concrete jungle that is Benidorm, unfortunately no pool view from this side of the hotel. As we were warned their was a 15 story clinic being built directly below us, we warned about the possible noise and dust but it didn’t bother us once. No noise hardly and no dust at all. The rooms are lovely and cool, it was 38 degrees outside but the temperature in our room was around 23 degrees which was lovely. Of course this was down to the effective air conditioning. Incidentally, keep it down to minus for the coolest airflow and make sure your card is in the electric slot and the balcony doors are closed otherwise the air conditioning won’t work. Beds were made and towels were changed every day by the maid. She even tidied the room and folded our pyjamas up and put them on our pillows!!
Onto the hotel, as I have already said the interior is fantastic. All marble and wood with rocks, trees etc scattered throughout. Onto the bars! Their are 5 bars in the hotel (7 if you count the 2 in the restaurant). These are well situated; entertainment area, lounge area, a quieter adults only piano bar, beside the lower pool and one at the adults only rooftop pool. These did get busy at times so expect queues and make sure you take your card to the bar with you. The drinks were nice with plenty on offer. The locally produced drinks were strong and tasted similar to ours. Put it this way, they got you pi*sed!!! You could also ask for cocktails as well as lager, spirits etc. You could even take bottles of champagne to your room with plastic glasses! The entertainment was okay. Bingo every night. Karaoke sometimes and also shows such as Cats and Grease. A hypnotist was also on one night. We preferred to get our free drinks til about 11:30/12:00 midnight and then head into Benidorm for the action!
The downstairs pool was very nice and very large. It did get VERY busy though and if you weren’t down there at 8am with your towel then you wouldn’t get a sunbed. (This was in peak season though). Their was a jacuzzi by the pool which was very relaxing. Their was an indoor pool which was always empty. We preferred the rooftop adults only pool. This was far quieter and you were guaranteed the best sun spots. The pool was fairly small but was warm at times and was very refreshing after all that sun! Facilities around the hotel included crazy golf, football, tennis, gym, sauna, massage, hairdresser and shop.
The food in the hotel was excellent. We stayed in Monika Holidays in May as part of the Amigos all inclusive group. The food and drink there just couldn’t compare with what was on offer here. The restaurant was very large and nicely air conditioned. On an evening you were greeted with a glass of champagne. The food buffet was massive! Every night it consisted of salads, meats, cheeses, main meals, vegetables, chips/potatoes, kids menu, specialities and chefs specials! Their were three theme nights; Mexican, Italian and Spanish. The food was lovely. Loads of choice with meats such as roast chicken, lamb, ghoulash, steak etc also, pasta every night. The chefs special where he serves you giant carvings of freshly cooked meat was always a treat. I have read complaints about the food being luke warm. Well put it this way, its not hot but its not luke warm its just warm. You have your food on heated plates which keeps the food to a comfortable heat. If it was any hotter the food would go dry and the restaurant would be far too hot. It was fine as it was and we enjoyed it all the time. We never managed to get up for breakfast due to late nights (4am ish!) but dinner was nice and so were snacks but the evening meal was lovely. The restaurant itself was very clean and orderly and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is situated well. Around it is a few more 4 star hotels, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel is just outside the hustle and bustle of ‘the strip’ in Benidorm centre and is about a nice 5 minute walk from the centre which is good for walking off your evening meal! It is quiet at night with no noise whatsoever.
We booked our hotel with JMC and would do so again. Their reps are nice, friendly, approachable, helpful and are available most of the time. If not, the staff behind the hotel reception were VERY friendly and helpful. Their are a few English and Scottish staff working in the hotel which is nice but the Spanish speak good English anyway. The staff were always helpful and polite to us. The bar men would always have a laugh with you!
Overall the Flamingo Oasis is a fantastic hotel. It is such a beautiful hotel. It has good facilities, great food, great drinks and great staff. We will return next summer but preferably while the kids are still at school as it was very busy. We had a fantastic holiday and can’t wait to go back next year.
Paul and Debbie.
