| About Gouves | | | Gouves is a village not far from Heraklion. There is a small traditional village on the hills but also there is the touristic part of Gouves by the sea with long sandy beaches, hotels restaurants and shops. Frequent public transportation is easily accesible which drives you to main archeological sights and other worth visiting destinations. Gouves is the right place for those who seek relaxing holidays, romantic beach walks, entertainment and excursions. |
Getting to Gouves |  10.0 | | It ;s only 15 km for Heraklion airport. take the bus or the taxi from there and within 15min you are in Gouves. there is also a ferry to / from PiREUS(athens) every day . |

Gouves restaurants | 10.0 | If you are looking for traditional Greek cuisine, enjoyable meals and cheap prices Gouves has something to offer. apart from the restaurants on the main road, walk around Gouves and try other places as well. Be careful though with your rep's suggestions... Finding a place to eat by trying different tavernas is the best to do. Highly Recommended (best taverna in Gouves): TAVERNA SAMARIA (Close to Melani's supermarket and Klio 's Apartments.). Try the KLEFTIKO, the LAMB specialities and the Pizzas THERE as they're cooked by the owners Christina and Thomas who are always willing to give you an excellent meal in the cheapest price.
