This fully air conditioned hotel is just perfect for a weeks break in Nice.
We arrived earlier than check-in time so were unable to go straight to our room, but the very helpful receptionist allowed us to store our luggage whilst they prepared the room.
Being right in the centre of Nice made travelling extremely easy. Right on the new tram route (tram stop:Jean Medicin), a short walk to the railway station and similar to the bus garage. We were on a budget break and therefore used the tram everyday. We also used the excellent bus service and even took the trian to Italy.
The double glazed windows eliminated any noise from outside and the individually controlled air conditioning in our room made sleeping comfortable. (Nice is very hot at night)
Our room was clean bright and airy with a huge French window and a lovely bathroom. The Wi Fi connection covered the whole hotel including our room. It was quick and free.
The bathroom was again bright with plenty of hot water and shelves for our toiletries. We were particularly lucky to have one of the only two rooms with a balcony, with a view of a busy high street.
Our maid cleaned our room and made our beds everyday and was polite and friendly.
We only had breakfast once during our stay as it was more interesting and cheaper to explore the many cafe's Nice has to offer.
I thought the breakfast was adequate, but quite expensive and a little boring. I would recommend staying room only and going out for breakfast.
All of the staff at the Grand Florida were friendly and helpful.
I would certainly stay here again and would recommend this charming hotel to anyone who wants to do Nice on a budget.
