Guinate: cheap holiday to lanzarote by Jacqueline Royal

we went for 7 days june/july 2006 we had 2 rooms as it was a family holiday the rooms were cleaned every other day clean towels and toilet rolls when needed the rooms were adequate just a couple of issues plug socket loose and cooker dial faulty but as we ate out that was not really a problem and just choose to use another socket when needed. the staff were very helpful friendly the pool was cleaned twice in the week we were there for a late deal break low budget we had everything & more than expected it was a value for money holiday no frills it was located nearby to all local ameneties, beach and all types of dining facilities pubs. clubs and kareoke.

Before going to Guinate I found it hard to find reviews on these apartments so I'm writing one to help others.
We booked with Direct Holidays for may 2004 and found these apartments to be value for money. The staff are friendly and had no problems with any queries we had. The apartments are clean and a maid service is daily with towels changed each time. We went in May and the weather was warm but not too humid as I have been to Lanzarote in September and it was extremely hot and hard to sleep at night because of the temperature. The main swimming pool is of a decent size with a shallow end of approx 4ft. They also have a kids pool now and this is more suitable for younger kids and babies.
The apartments were ideally situated in a quiet area away from the hussle and bustle of the main strip, but not too far away. You can reach the main drag with a walk of 5mins and the Old Town is only a short distance along the back road.
We varied our nights out accordingly, when we wanted a more livelier drink we went to the main strip and when we wanted more peace we went to the Old Town.
Nearby to the apartments are shops and a great supermarket that has fresh warm bread delivered each morning.
Overall I was impressed with Guinate and am going back again this November. This time however, we have cut out the middle man and booked with Guinate direct (saving a hell of a lot). Just 42 euros per night for the apartment itself with no under occupancy supplements. Got a cheap flight too so I'm happy!

Have the Club Guinate apartments been refurbished recently? Is their someone on reception all night?

>>	Answer 1 by Dave Jones (02 Jan) guinate is not been refurbished recently butis clean and tidy inside the apartments and outside. there is noone on the door but you have a key to get in & out the main doors that are locked at night. just returned on the 30/12/2007. was ok. would go back there, pool is not heated and very cold.
