| Hanioti Review: Hanioti Review | | Written by Simon Ryder on 01 Sep 2005 about a trip in Jun 2005.
| Nightlife:
The nightlife in Hanioti centres around the main square although there are side streets to this area that if you miss you will be disappointed!
The square consists of cafes/bars/restaurants that come to life in the evening when the sun goes down. You also find that the local street merchants come out at night, some offering portraits others jewellery, tattoos, fruit, nuts and lots more. A relaxed friendly atmosphere is what you will enjoy.
Restaurants:
There are many restaurants to choose from and a wide selection of variety. Such is the variety of restaurants we only revisited 3 during a 2 week holiday, which were our top favourites, but it was difficult to decide as they were all good. You can choose between a good selection of Italian, Greek and international cuisine.
Beach:
The beach at Hanioti is narrow but very long. However be warned that although the beaches are blue flag beaches the sea edge consists of small stones that can be hard on the feet and there are larger stones (rocks) further out that can be very hard on the feet/knees. However if you can brave these, as many do, a delightful swim awaits in the lush, calm blue sea surrounding the area. |
