Hisaronu shopping | 7.0 | | Sure prices have increased, but then doesn't every resort once it becomes well established and its number of visitors increase? The Monday Open Market is still up for a bit of haggling, if you pay the first price quoted all I can say is 'That's not the way to do it'. Jewellery is a must to buy or have made. Girls don't throw those odd earrings away or discard your broken chains etc, take it with you and they will design and make whatever you want out of it all. |
Hisaronu nightlife | 10.0 | | If you seek 'Ibiza' type clubs, forget it! The closest you'll find to that is a foam party held in Barumba. Lots of cocktail bars with outdoor or balcony seating. Time Out Bar is famous for its karaoke and the staffs wicked display of Turkish dancing. A great night out for all age groups. Wherever you choose to hide out the staff are sure to play a major part in your entertainment and you are sure to want to 'sit at the bar'. |
Hisaronu restaurants | 10.0 | | Great steaks, lamb shank and pizzas! Fantastic range of food on offer, I truly hope you try the local cuisine - Teste Kepab (a casserole of lamb, chicken or beef cooked in a clay bottle) the waiter will break the bottle with a small hammer to release the dish on to your plate. If you want chinese food then it has to be at Dragonaro, don't fall the cheaper ones offering as much as you can eat for a fiver! |
Hisaronu attractions | 10.0 | | Kaya Köy (the ghost town), this abandoned village is a 20 minute bus drive. I just love this place. So much atmosphere, peace and tranquility (until the tour buses arrive). Don't forget your camera or suncream if you visit during the heat of the day. |
Hisaronu events | | | If you take a holiday in October you will get to see the fantastic air show that takes place at Olu Deniz beach every year. Everything from paragliders to the Turkish Stars (similar to the Red Arrows). Usually takes place over 3 days with the Stars show as the finale. Not sure of dates you can message me I will find out for you. |
Hisaronu History and Culture | | Hisaronu, in reality, is like taking a 'twin-centre' holiday without paying for the second resort! Fantastic mountains surround you wherever you decide to stay in the village. If you enjoy the beach then it isn't the best sand in the world but the scenic perfection cannot be challenged! The drive down the mountain to Olu Deniz beach (second resort) takes just 5 minutes, your first view of the beach from the minibus will forever have a place in your mind, never to be forgotten.
Many changes have taken place in Hisaronu over the last 15 years, some for the better and some unecessary. What has not changed is its hospitality. People who work and live in this resort have always got time to chat, chuckle and help to make your stay a memorable one. Most visitors return year after year and a great number have chosen to up sticks from the UK and now live in Hisaronu.
That brings me to one of the many changes, lots of estate agent offices now. Not enough 'Turkish' Bars, I miss them so much. One of the changes is definitley for the better - the main street is now pedestrians only after 6pm, no more dodging the dodgy drivers! |
