International Drive shopping

I drive is great for shopping whether its souveniers or designer clothes and shoes. The premium outlet is great for all your designer gear specially sports stuff Nike, Addidas etc and are good prices and the iride trolley bus takes you there from anywhere on idrive for a dollar.

International Drive nightlife

We had 12 year old daughter with us so didnt really sample the nightlife other than hotel bar but was told universal city walk the place to go for nightlife.

International Drive restaurants

There are lots of restaurants on idrive but the popular ones like sizzler and ponderosa had quite a queue by 8.30pm so you need to go early, Race rock is good but a bit more expensive than some but good atmosphere and music.

The chicago grill was really nice and reasonable prices but then they asked us for 20% tip which put me off as i like to choose how much i leave depending on service.

International Drive attractions

Universal studios and islands of adventure are only 5 minutes walk from wet and wild on i drive and have some great rides for the older kids like the hulk and duelling dragons and if your feeling hot go on blutos river barges you get absolutely drenched but its really funny. seaworld at the other end of i drive theres also ripleys believe it or not and wonderworks and an endless amount of crazy golf and some amusement arcades.

International Drive day trips

Disney parks are the main trips but theres also busch gardens which we didnt go to but everyone we spoke to said it was the best theme park to go its about 80 mins by coach, kennedy space centre suppose to be good if you like that sort of thing .

Getting to International Drive

we flew from manchester, uk, to sanford with my travel a week after security scare and everything went really well no delays then got on the transfer coach to the hotel but theres plenty of car hire available.

Getting around International Drive

getting around i drive is easy with the iride trolleys or lynx buses or taxis if you dont want to drive.

Most hotels put on coaches to universal parks for free and some do disney ones for free but some charge in which case its best to get trolley to stop 38 near seaworld then crossover to get lynx bus 50 to disney parks. lynx bus $1.50 and trolley $1.00 kids free on trolley and half price on lynx bus.

When to visit International Drive

we went to florida in august when it was really humid and hurricane season and were told feb to june best time to go.
