Wild wadi water park

Stayed for 3 nights in Executive room. Room was very large and clean with a view of the Burj al arab. Hotel was stunningly clean and the staff are very polite and couldnt do enough for you. Food in the hotel is very good, great breakfast.

Wild wadi water park is linked to hotel and is one of the best water parks in the world. Dont need your wallet either as you can wear a digital wristband which charges food etc to your hotel room.

The hotel lives up to its claim of being the best resort hotel on the world.

Jumeirah Beach: A dream in the sun by Suzy Mcewan

We have just spent half-term, the last week of October 2003 at the Jumeirah Beach, with two boys, 11 and 10. It was absolutely full and neither the staff, nor service faltered once. Having arrived at two in the morning, we found breakfast a bit of a scrum (self service, spread over different sections for cooked, cereals, pancakes, etc. In fact everything you could wish for. We decided to upgrade to premium class which allowed access to a private area where breakfast choice was more limited, but open for drinks, private terrace, private beach area, games room and net for the children. Plus the bonus of happy hour for the adults. And it was much, much quieter than the rest of the open areas of the hotel.

We went during Ramadan and feared that our holiday would be spoiled by limitations on drinking and smoking.
This proved only partially true. A very good lunch was slightly spoiled by not being able to enjoy a decent wine, but that's very much our own opinion. We could always retire to our room and order room service. Smoking was permitted in most areas, even though I was ready to sneak to the loo, just like school days!

We were not told in advance, that because the hotel was so full, a lot of their restaurants required pre-booking, and, as these had mostly all been fully booked we were unable to experience the delights of some of them. However, the ones that we did experience were superb.

Being right next to, and with free access to, Wild Wadi was a huge plus. The boys practically lived there! Again, because it was half term, queues built vey quickly, for both entry and rides, but such fantastic rides. Only the brave will face the Jueirah Scarer! There are also more gentle rides for the less enthusiastic.

Highlights included a Desert Jeep Safari, we went in a jeep with 'Macho'. Possibly the only Rastafarian driver in the troup! And the best. Included camel ride, sunset in the desert, a brilliant bbq (including wine, but no belly dancing, in deference to Ramadan) hena tattoos for all. The Souks are worth a visit, definite bargains in the gold section. Don't imagine tented heaven, it is a sophisticated set up, and we witnessed somebody being 'escorted' from a jeweller's, after refusing to accept the lowest price on offer, albeit after hours of negociation.

The Jumeirah certainly isn't a couples' dream in school holidays. Outside of those times, it maybe. It is stunning, the Burj Al Arab even more so. A meal in their underground aquarium restaurant was just tops. There is a lot of building work going on all along the coastline, the hotel next door is going to be stunning. Essentially, non of the building work impinges on a dream holiday. Warm sea, wonderful service, actually, supreme service. Catch it now!
