Just returned aug 18 08 from two weeks kalina gardens our first time in sunny beach we have being going to golden sands for over 15 years the hotel was very disapointing staff at reception did not know how to smile bar staff were very plesant the rooms were not very clean even by bulgurian standards bar closed at 12 on the dot not a bad thing if only to get away from the nightly entertainment of terrible karoke and more karoke. Breakfast in the morning was usual Bulgarian breakfast, quiet nice and somthing for everyone we only had one evening meal in the hotel which i would not reccommend to anyone. Hotel was well situated in the centre of everything with lots of good food and cheap drink all around, went to Khan's Tent which was very disappointing as we have been to lots of Bulgarian tradional entertainment in Golden Sands and have never classed Goo Goo Dancers as tradional Bulgarian, very expensive and not worth the money however Nessebar is a must. if you are staying in this hotel i reccommend to use the safe at all times even for small change as £40 sterling was taken from our room, in all the years of going to Bulgaria and staying in all types of hotels this is the first time this has happen to us. Sunny Beach is alot bigger faster noiser than Golden Sands which i would highly reccommend.

had 2 wks holiday in kalina garden hotel i could not fault the hotel it was very very clean , the cleaners very fantastic we had clean bedding and towels every day , the room was very big and the facilities were good the only thing was in the catalogue it did say childrens play area all there was a little babys seesaw and a plastic little climbing house i was expecting ie, swing , slide etc. but never mind the location is good not far from the shops and beach . the food i went bed and breakfast we only eat there twice i didnt think much of it . its very cheap to eat out , over all the staff there are nice but i have stayed in an other hotel were the staff were better expecailly with children which was the globus overall i would come back to kalina gardens

we have just returned from kalina garden,which is a lovely hotel but totally geared for germans.on our first day we were asked to keep the noise down as the german guests were there to rest.the next day we were asked to keep the children quiet by the pool,have you ever heard of children being quiet by a pool on holiday.we also had a bad experience with a german guest kicking our door in the afternoon because the childrenwere noisy in the corridor.every time we went to our rep with balkan holidays we got nowhere but she asked us if we would move to the first floor as there were no germans on this floor.we asked to be moved from this hotel as this is totally unsuitable for british children and we were told they would move us to the globus but we would have to pay another £70 per head,which is totally wrong.we will certainly not be booking with balkan ever again,the rep was very unhelpful and could speak very little english.

We stayed at Kalina Gardens last year and it was the best holiday I have been on. The rooms were spotless and were cleaned almost everyday, our room was a family room which was very spacious consisted of two single beds and a double, fridge, hairdryer, shaver, air conditioning and balcony.
The pool was great especially if you have children, there were plenty of sun beds around the childrens pool so you could keep a close eye on them, there is a bar which is also sells snacks. The food at the hotel was good but I have to agree with Helen when she says geared toward the German/Scandinavian clientelle. The staff were very friedly and helpful.
Kalina Gardens is only a ten minute walk away from the shops, bars, restauarnts and beech.
I would go back to Kalina Gardens in a second !

If you are looking for a 1st class, clean hotel in Sunny Beach.... book the Kalina Gardens. Newly built in 2002, Kalina Gardens offers a high standard of accomodation and facilities. We have just returned from Bulgaria this morning, and are going to book again for next year. The family room we occupied was very spacious (more than enough room for 2 adults and 2 small kids to live comfortably for a fortnight). The rooms were air conditioned, had a large marble tiled bathroom and had a small small mini bar/fridge too.
The hotel's pools were excellent, although the tiles surrounding the pool became a little slippy when they got wet.
The found was great, although largely geared toward the German/Scandinavian clientelle.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
I will cetainly be returning to the Kalina Garden Hotel next year.

We will be traveling with a 8 month baby is there a kettle in the room as we will need to heat the bottles for her.
