I have just returned from a two weeks holiday at the Kanika Pantheon. The hotel was clean and well furbished with comfortable rooms. There was a variety of food based on a different theme each night which was of a good standard. I enjoyed the sheftalia on Greek night. The hotel was full because of the Cyprus Rally, however, the staff were friendly and efficient. In some cases I would have blown my top had I been receiving the same abuse some of the more pompous guests were guests were dishing out. The staff, however, took it in a professional and sensible manner.
I generally make my own entertainment on holiday, however, the resident “entertainment’s officer” was good and always had something for guests to do if they wished during the day and it was a good way to meet other guests. Evening entertainment was good as well usually with the house band and dancing during the evening meal with other things such as quizzes, bingo etc after and a Greek or Cypriot night once a week. This probably suited ‘older’ guests, but for ‘younger’ guests there was plenty to do outside the hotel.
The location is aptly described in Cidermans review below. The only faults I could find was that the television did not work very well, not a big problem, and the singer in the house band singing like Vic Reeves in the club style. I would stay here again.

I have stayed at the Kanika for the past two years. I proposed to my wife in the hotel in 2000 and we returned in 2001 and got married in Cyprus.
The hotel is a three star although it thinks it should be a four star! The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is very relaxed and clean. There are three swimming pools and a nice poolside bar.
The location is good - the hotel is midway between the tourist area where there are loads of loud bars and clubs - and the old town. There are also bars and cafes immediately around the hotel.
