Kazimierz: Fantastic hotel, good location. by Michelle Chambers |

We were a party of 17 adults aged between 19 and 54 visiting Krakow for a long weekend.
The Kazimierz hotel was excellent, can't fault it on anything! The reception staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and tidy. The rooms were bright and spacious and the bathroom was clean too. The only slightly stange thing was the pillows which were more like a beanbag! and the duvet didn't quite stretch completely over the bed, even without people in it but after a long day sightseeing around the city you were too tired to notice!
The breakfasts were fantastic with a huge selection of hot and cold food including sausage, eggs, croissants, pan au chocolate, toast, yoghurt, fruit and an array of herbal teas to choose from! We did not have dinner in the hotel but on the afternoon of our arrival there was a wedding reception in the dining room so I pressume the restaurant food must be good! Some of our party used the room service facility for snacks and drinks and were pleased with this service too and the prices were reasonable.
The hotel was in a good location, only a ten minute walk to the main square - once you find the shortest route there! We can recommend the "propoganda" bar which is on the left as you leave the hotel! This is a friendly locals bar and appeared to not have a closing time as most of the locals found chairs to sleep in for a short while, only to wake again to visit the bar for another drink!
Overall, the Kazimierz was a great hotel and definitely value for money. Our whole party would recommend this hotel and would definitely visit again. We had an excellent time and will certainly return to Krakow again in the future.

Kazimierz: An excellent base for your Krakow trip. by Linda Seeley |

Situated in the Jewish Quarter the hotel is in an excellent location with many excellent bars and restaurants within a 2 minutes walk if you are too tired to trek into the old town after a hard days walking round this fantastic city.
The hotel is very clean and has a lovely dining room. The breakfast buffet seems to be pretty standard for Polish hotels with a decent selection of the usual continental breakfast items as well as one or two more unusual ones. There is something for everyone and you can have as much as you like.
The bedroom we were in was at the back of the building and didn't have a wonderful view although the cathedral could be seen in the distance. There was a television with CNN News and a Eurosports Channel. A well stocked fridge with very reasonable prices and free water replaced daily.
The beds weren't brilliant it has to be said. A flat sheet over a bed base with no mattress to tuck it into means that you wake up sleeping on the base with the sheet hanging off and the sheets and covers were of a man made material so not the most comfortable. The bathroom was adequate. Clean and modern with a nice shower cubicle and the plumbing was fine. The wash basin was just a corner handbasin though and not big enough to use to wash your face especially since there was a glass shelf positioned just above it which made it virtually impossible to lean over it. That said it is a fine base for a short break and I think you have to accept little inconveniences when you stay in an older style hotel. This is not a chain hotel and as long as you travel with an open mind and don't expect 5* luxury, you will enjoy your stay at this hotel.
I would just add that the reception is manned by English speaking staff who are always happy to help and there are plenty leaflets and maps available for your convenience.
