| Kissimmee Travel Guide: Family trip to Disney & Universal!

Trip was for a family on holiday. Michael Gair would prefer not to visit again.
| Kissimmee shopping | | Went in several times but I found "International Drive" full of rubbish tourist "Tee-Shirt" shops, cheap licquer stores & tattooist's! Loads of "ladies of the night", quite "seedy" actually! Very disappointed! Definately do not want to go back, there!! Luckily we were not staying there, so we only encountered it four or five times!
There are some good shopping malls away from "International Drive" but honestly, they are no better or cheaper than we have in the UK. |
Kissimmee nightlife | | | We ate out every evening and never had any problems! |
Kissimmee restaurants | | | Very average! mostly fast food type places. I have to say I wasn't very impressed with the food - the service was always excellant but the food was usually quite ordinary! Best was "Charlies Seafood Restaurant" which was very expensive, but well worth it! |
Kissimmee attractions | | | Disney World & Universal Studio's! Our grandkids absolutely loved every minute of it & we wouldn't have missed it for the world!!! Unfortunately, at my age I begrudge spending whole days in queue's to have six rides (of any description) |
Kissimmee day trips | | | Too busy visiting theme parks & water parks! Two weeks- a different park every day! |
Getting to Kissimmee | | We had a 8 seater people carrier with "Sat Nav" & it was a doddle! Directions given at the airport were spot-on!
We had a luxury villa in Kissimee & found it without any problems!
Please note the standard of accomodation is excellent - ours was a "three star, three bedroomed villa, with private pool" and it was magnificent! TOTAL LUXURY!!! |
Getting around Kissimmee | | Got to have a car, no alturnative!!!! |
When to visit Kissimmee | | We went school holidays in June - beginning of hurricane season - had a couple of torrential downpours but it was dry within a couple of hours - belting hot besides!! I loved the weather!!! |
